Thank you all for the warm welcome. Bubba has his own hay field which stretches about 5 acres. He spends his days chasing coyotes and hunting marmots.

These dogs are rare in Western Canada so I'm delighted to have found your forum and its knowledgeable members.

No problem. Toronto is in the province of Ontario, in Eastern Canada. The province of Alberta is Western Canada, known for holding the bulk of the country's energy deposits.

As you all know, the split personality of these dogs is tremendous. From rigid protector to the softy lounging in a fleece bed. They're the greatest.

Coyotes and marmots..... I know what a coyote is but what kind of animal is a marmot? Large or small?

My Coco gets to chase kangaroos and goannas. They keep her pretty busy.

Interesting little fellow. Is he a digger? Do they make furs out of them? When I worked in northern Italy in a fur boutique we used to sell "Marmotta" furs. Sounds like it could be one of those little critters....

Yes, they burrow into the ground and eat plant roots. During the day they like to sun bathe and that's generally when the dog can catch them snoozing.

We were/are considering emigrating to Terrace but we're getting conflicting stories about SBT,s being banned there?

Across this province, British Columbia, I am not aware of any SBT or PB bans. Next to British Columbia is the province of Alberta and I know that several cities have banned the ownership of bully breeds.

Terrace?? Interesting choice. Beautiful region but the logging industry will continue to shrink as our CDN $ increases in value. I was requested to work in that region but felt the economy there would be too weak; chose not to move there. What attracts you to the BC interior?

Myself and my partner both work in the health care profession,our work colleague emigrated to Terrace around 5 years ago with his family, he can get us work there if we wanted to emigrate, we are very tempted!

The cities mentioned are retirement destinations which require a large population of skilled healthcare workers.

My partner Michelle has pretty much made up her mind about Terrace if we emigrated, we'd look at other areas once there i imagine!

No, just what we've seen on the web and what our friend told us, we also got the dvd rom thing for job recruitment/emigration.
Apparently our friends employers would cover the cost for us to visit the place for two weeks before committing ourselves to anything.
We just need to know the laws on our staffies over there first!

One of Michelle's other nursing colleagues emigrated to Chilliwack a couple of years ago, that's not too far from yourself is it?

Chilliwack is a farm community outside of Vancouver. It also serves as a home for many who commute to work in Vancouver. Kelowna is located in the Okanagan Valley, which is a river valley connected by lakes.

Hello! Nice to see someone from the west coast also. I'm in Seattle now but my hometown was Bellingham which is just below the canadian border. Never made it to where you are but spent much time with my northern neighbors. Enjoy the board!
