Hello and welcome to the forum

I myself would decide upon seeing the pup you have been offered. In my opinion you will know when you meet the pup if she is for you or not.

I have 2 males and a bitch. My boys are more loving in that the give me more kissses and follow me everywhere but if i had to say who way the most loyal i would say my girl, she may not be the one who follows my every move but she is my soul mate, knows me more than the boys and we have a mutual respect. The relationship i have with her i could never have and don't have with my boys.

I have always thought that a pup picks you not the other way round. I have always gone for the pup that picks me & have always had a great result todate, but you'll know which is the one for you when you see them.

Re: Dog or bitch?

Post by staffylover70 on Sat 04 Jul 2009, 15:28

I have always had both, I was always a fan of bitches initially but now I could not say I have a preference.
I do find bitches are a bit more sophisticated, the two bitches I have previously owned have always avoided puddles, picked things up gently if toys are near furniture, if I was sat on the floor they would walk around me, as for the males I have had I have found the complete opposite, get full of mud, run into and jump on furniture to get what they want and as for standing on you then ask my OH and his squidgy bits Big grin
I have found the males more loving wheras the females are more independant. Training seems to be on a par and neither more difficult than the other

I have both and both my girls are spayed I find them loving to the extreme, loyal and in tune with me to a fairly frightening extent (my dogs can judge my feelings better than most of the people I know!) I also have a fantastic bond with my male dogs (although as a pup its still quite hard to tell with Vader) My personal preference would always be for a bitch as IMO they are easier to do everything with!
