Some puppy questions

Post by 2qk4u on Tue Sep 20, 2011 7:46 pm

Hi guys, I havnt been here in a while, Sasha is 20 weeks old now and doing great and she is getting big and heavy. she is completely toilet trained, she will sit, lie down, roll over, give the paw and then the other one and go to bed. If I ask if she wants her dinner she will take me to the utility room and show me where the food is. If I rattle her harness she will sit at the door waiting to go out. We walk almost every day and we go to dog social classes too. After saying that she is only a baby and gets in trouble every day.
Anyway, I have a few questions.

1 - Sasha is loosing some hair, is this just her winter coat growing ?

2 - Sasha lost a tooth, is this just her baby teeth falling out or did she chew something too hard ?

3 - When will Sasha go into heat ?

Hi, glad to hear Sasha is doing so well, you've obviously been training her well.

Re, the fur loss, not entirely sure on that one. But yes, the tooth falling out is probably just her puppy teeth falling out and the first season is typically between 6 and 10 months I think.

Any recent pics of your little angel?

love to see some pics of her, re the hair loss as long as there are no bald patches it could just be shedding, if she has bald patches then maybe a trip to the vets.
Her baby teeth will be falling out, re season dont know cause i have a boy,

Smile

As Janey says, the she'll be teething right about now, so expect a few more to fall out! And the hair loos may be shedding to grow a winter coat. If you start to see bald patches let a vet see.

Her season could come any time between 5 months and 18 months, with the nromal 1st season being around 6 - 10 months.

hair lose is natural, she will lose some hair as the her winter coat is coming through, tuna and sardines mixed into her food food is very good for them.

she is only losing her milk teeth, my kids love looking for them in her chew toys.. lol

she will 'break down' any time between 7/18 months but they are all different, some don't untill they are nearly 2 years old, next time your at the vet ask them, ive always found its the best place to ask for advice
