computer running slow when watching videos etc....
Hello all you smart technology buffs out there
In the last week or so my computer seems to be taking ages to load photos and in particular, videos. If I want to watch somebodys videos, it takes so long to load that I end up frustrated and not watching them.
Any ideas or suggestions so I can speed things up again
Thanks in advance from one not so savvy computer operator

If you watching a film off the net you may want to reboot your internet box, deleted all of your history/cookies.
If it's a CD you may want to turn off things you not used like the internet brower you may have open / make sure your not doing a anti virus scan when you watching your film and also do a defag, deleted all of your history and cookies

I have done a "disc clean-up" and will run my "defragment" later.
I'm just trying to watch clips that people have posted on here mainly.

Its most likly your graphics card drivers, if it was working up until recently try a system restore. failing that give me a PM and i can help you some more
Re: computer running slow when watching videos etc....
System restore = Last resort...! ones I would try; Bandwidth issues with your IP or update your Browser and Flash player, check for spyware most of them keep using your internet to monitor and spread out over the net,(botnet). depending on the age of your comp it also could be down to a lack of resources (memory for one), have a look on the net for ways to free some memory up.mr2essions wrote:Its most likly your graphics card drivers, if it was working up until recently try a system restore. failing that give me a PM and i can help you some more

I would go with this. Also, is your internet (when not accessing any flash / videos / large pictures) normally slow ? How much RAM have you got installed ?
