An afternoon at the dog park.....OOPS, Pic Heavy

Post by Guest on Sun Jul 17, 2011 10:51 am

What an awesome day today. Started off by taking my two gorgeous girlies to the movies ( we watched "Mr Poppers Penguins" ) then had lunch out and a stroll around the shops.

After returning home, we took Roxy out in the car to a dog park which is about 20 mins from our house.
When we arrived there was a small terrier cross dog and 3 American Staffys in the larger enclosure which we took Roxy into. She had a great time running and playing with them all. After a while they left, and it was just us joined by a small pug/Maltese. Not long after they all started to arrive thick and fast.....so Roxy had a huge variety of dogs to socialise and play with.
From memory there was Roxy, Maltese/pug, 5 month Husky Pup (which was Roxys fave playmate) Dingo, 6 Beagles, 5 Golden labrodors, 1 black Lab, Greyhound, Whippet, Boxer, Bull Arab, Bulldog plus many more.

So now we have one very worn out girl who is resting in her bed.

I did take my camera, but as they were all moving so much it was hard to get good pics.
Here are some of what I managed.

And thought i'd throw this one in while i'm posting pics.... (sorry they seem very large pics, but I don't know how to get them smaller when I post )

Wonderfull pics. Suki favorite playmate is also a Husky. I don't know how we would manage to tire Suki out without her.

great pics! check out those huski marking they're so pretty!

I never see other staffys at the dog park here despite like 80% of dog owners in our town having one haha,
and I was so annoyed when I went the other day, just as I got the dogs into the car to leave some people turned up with an adult staffy and a pup! guh! hopefully next time.

anyways, awesome fun pics at the dog park Big Grin

Hi Vanessa....the park is in Kwinana. Roxy was in her element socialising with the other dogs.
Below is some info off the web :

Peace Park
Corner of Parmelia Ave & Sulfur Road, Parmelia

Facilities:
• Dog Exercise Area
• 1 BBQ (electric)
• 2 Picnic Benches
• 2 Park Benches (located in dog exercise area)
• Tap of drinking water for dogs

Peace Park has an exercise area fenced off for dogs. Inside the area there are a variety of different obstacles for dogs to play with. There are 2 park benches with a shelter situated inside the exercise area. Outside the exercise area the trees provide a canopy which covers picnic tables and a BBQ. It is a great place for a BBQ picnic lunch during summer.

The movie was cool......my girls are 14 and 12 so it was there choice, but Yes I really enjoyed it too Big Grin I'm a big kid at heart.

Great pics & Roxy's her usual beautiful self! I can't tell you how much I LOVE her ears!

What sort of dog is the really dark red/brown one in the 8th pic? The colour's stunning.

Hahahahaha, Roxy's ears have now become her trademark and provide us with lots of smiles and laughs, she's definitely not a perfect specimen but she's my baby girl and I would'nt have her any other way.

All of the dogs in the 8th pic are Staffys although the owners did say they were American Staffys. It's a shame I did'nt manage to get a pic of him front on, he has a lovely big head with a wonderful staffy smile. I also commented on his colour to the owner too. He was lovely.
