12 month ears

Post by Doormat86 on Wed Mar 14 2018, 21:17

Hi all
Wanting some advice... we have had staffies before and ear shape has never been a problem- although we got a pup who is now 12 months old and his one ear is fully forward, with the other being a lovely half pricked ear.

I understand that teething can cause ears to go abit mad although his have never changed? Is there a chance now being 12months it may still change?

Has anyone else had a late developer?! Lol

Also his mum and dad who both have a pedigree of some big champions both had well set ears.

We are never going to show him and hes a lovely mad pup but just intregues me why it never changed and if anyone else had a dog similar.

Thanks in advance

Only time will tell i suppose. At your next vet visit mention it in case there is anything going on there inside the ear.

I doubt that it will change now, and unless your pup us displaying signs of discomfort I also doubt that there's anything wrong with the ear.

It's possible, I suppose that it'll change, but it's unlikely. You could try gently easing the ear into shape, but if it won't go with gentle manipulation, then that's how it'll stay.

He is what he is, and he sounds like a fantastic boy! Look at it like he's special and unique!

No he has no signs of being in any pain.
This is him as a pup -

going through teething his ears have never changed. Most of the time now a days hes smiling so his ears are always back lol  -

It's possible that manipulation would have worked when he was a pup, but sometimes that's just how they are! He is a beauty, isn't he?

He is indeed, and his 12 year old brother doesn't mind him taking the lime light in his photo Big Grin
