Insurance for Jess
Hi all
Who do you use for your pet insurance please? I would like to get lifetime cover for Jess when we get her next week and wondered if there are any companies that are really good or who to avoid like the plague?
Thank you

Re: Insurance for Jess
I have premium cover with more than, Hank is my first ever pup so I haven't had dealings with any other companies but everything they had to offer Hank I liked which includes life time cover and dental, I didn't even think about dental until I seen it in my paperwork!

Re: Insurance for Jess
I currently use Petplan, but only because the vets recommended them as the best (but not the cheapest). Whether this is true or not I have no idea as I haven't had to use them yet, so I would also be interested in other people's views.
I think Hugo costs about £30 a month and is covered for life up to £4,000 per year.

Re: Insurance for Jess
We use petplan too and have a max payout of £4000 so sounds very similar to Dave's above. With all that's happened to Flo over the last month or so we are very relieved that we had her insured. The claim is currently being processed and I will let you know how it goes but so far no problems.

Re: Insurance for Jess
We were with MoreThan and were very pleased with them over the years. They paid out heaps for Bobbert's allergies and Harley's lymphoma without a quibble. But... their premiums seem to go up very quickly, especially due to Nola's age, and we've now decided to try self insuring. We have Dogs Trust membership to cover 3rd party and a basic accident insurance with Animal Friends, and then we put the rest of what we'd pay annually (nearly £2,000!) into the bank. It's something to think about, not for everyone I know, but it is another option.
Animal Friends Insurance in general is worth looking at. They've got a very good reputation, a wide choice of policies and their prices are fairly reasonable.
