Dogs should be family

I needed somewhere to vent. I looked after a dogue De Bordeaux puppy for my sister's friend while he was homeless. Over the 6 weeks we had her my son's & I really bonded & loved her so much. I had doubts her owner would give her a good home but felt powerless. We were all crying & I begged to keep her & pay her up. Before coming to me she had been passed round his friends. Anyway he took her back & assured me he was dedicated to her. We were heartbroken & as I'd always wanted a staffy we put a deposit on a wee boy who will join us in 4 weeks. But now I see the dogue De Bordeaux on gumtree for sale like some possession. I'm so upset, ANOTHER move for a pup who is only 6 months old. She is 800 pounds so I can't afford her. Makes me so angry when people don't realise a dog is a special soul, not some possession that can be bought & sold on a whim

I can't believe how heartless some people can be Laura, seems like they only care about the money

That is heartbreaking, what a poor puppy!!! To some people they are just possessions to buy & sell when money is needed, they don't understand how much this will affect the dog

I'm so sad. I've messaged people in a douge de Bordeaux owners club in the hope someone can buy her as they are breed enthusiasts. Even if I can get 800 I'm not sure I can maintain her, 3 dogs would be pushing things. Ddb's tend to have hefty vet bills & are the most expensive breed to insure
