Couple of problems with Cooper? Empty Couple of problems with Cooper?

Post by ditchy76 Fri Jan 23 2015, 13:31

Hi
Just a couple of health issues with Cooper at the moment and thought I would ask on here for some advice.

Last week Cooper was neutered and suddenly over the last few days he keeps having little accidents when he gets excited which he has never done before. As soon as we start cuddling him he wees. Like I said this has never happened before and was wondering if this was a common issue after neutering?

Also since his op he has been on medication for some kind of blocked nose, it seemed to be clearing up however he woke up this morning really distressed constantly blowing his nose as if something was irritating him. He's snorting a bit when playing with the kids. Has anyone had any previous issues with this or is it just normal Staffy?

He's going back to the vets this afternoon as just a bit worried about him.

Thanks for your help.

I've not had any experience of either issues also. How did Cooper get on at the vets Paul ?

I would have said grass seed up his nose but I'm not sure there is any this time of year. If it is a seed or something it must be taken out so I guess the vet will be able to advise. Perhaps his sinuses are just inflamed from the medication (tell me about it, my own are f***ing terrible all year round).

Been to the vets, they have prescribed some medication for Cooper over the course of the next week to try and clear his nose up. They dont believe anything is stuck up there. What they have said it could be is a polup on the back of his throat which gives him the impression that his nose is blocked. If the medication doesn't work they are going to give him an xray to have a look further.
On the weeing they said it has been known for them to do this after neutering but not sure how long it will last.
