staffy acting weird.

Post by harley1983 on Wed Sep 29, 2010 3:43 pm

hi everyone.

i have a year and 4month old staffy who is acting rather strange today. normally she is full of beans to the maximum but today she is just odd.

1st: in the morning my boyfriend lets her out for her buisness and then she always come up stairs and gets under the covers with me. she came up to see me but then went straight back down and got back into her bed.

when i then came downstairs she acted all sheepish as if she had done something naughty. she was overexcited but in a nervous way (very unusual for her) there was nothing naughty she had done. she stayed in her bed all morning while i was getting ready for uni.

i left her as usual in her create with the door open in the kitchen. came home and she was excatly the same staying in her bed acting nervous and sheepish.

its as though she is upset about something or as if some thing has happened but i cant think what as im with her most of the time and nothing unusual has happened.

does anyone have any ideas could she be poorly she has eaten her breackfast and i just gave her some of my jacket potatoe and she ate that fine.

Hi and welcome,

I have had this with mine but as you say only when she has done something wrong and she is sulking. To be honest I think you should just keep an eye on her. As she is eating and playing (even nervously) I can't think there is much wrong (but obviuously I can't see her). Something may have spooked her I don't know. How is she behaving at the mo and have you taken her out for a walk yet?? Was her business normal?? She may be having an off day, we all feel ill on occasions.

Let me know how she is getting on x

thanks for all the reply's guys

no fireworks but that is how she is sort of behaving. i took her round to my mums and she was playing like mad with mums dogs and she does seem alto more settled now we are back home. she is cuddled up to me on the sofa as we speak.

she threw up horses hoof yesterday morning (i have horses and the farrier had been up) but she has been eating and poohing since so i dont think she has anything stuck. there was hedgehog in the garden yesterday maybe that spooked her.

i think i will deffinatley keep a close eye on her lots of extra cuddles i think Big Grin

re staffy acting strange

Post by patton on Thu Sep 30, 2010 4:53 pm

Poor we pet. Hopefully she was just feeling a we bit under the weather. Where you getting ready to go out somewhere are something? mabey she was feeling a bit distressed about being on her own? Dogs miss you when your not about. Thats why dogs mans best friend they display all the same emotions as us. eg, happy, sad, lonley, excited etc only difference is they cant speak aloud. though us dog lovers can 9 times out of 10 tell hat are doghs are thinking lol. Strange one admittidley hopefully she just had a we of day and shes happier now Smile

Is she spayed?

If not, sh may be feeling out of sorts if she is due in season.
