Re: el perro. or strong stuff
I use the strong stuff collars not the fleece lined but the 2" ones, but i much prefer there design to the el perro collars, and 2 years later not one sign of wear even on Chance's

Re: el perro. or strong stuff
I have to admit the El Perro harness looks very durable and may have considered it before on Ella's recommendations. If Rockys EzyDog harness ever fails for any reason may well be purchasing one then.

Re: el perro. or strong stuff
To be honest I prefer STRONG STUFF over EL PERRO.
I have dealt with them both in the past and not heard great things about EL PERRO ... Lets just say they don't play cricket in my eyes !

Re: el perro. or strong stuff
I guess it down to personal choice, we still use an ezydog one but really just in the car. But once darcy finishes growing we will look into the el perro/strong stuff debate

Re: el perro. or strong stuff
Following the recommendations on here I bought an El Perro harness for Densil. He was been wearing a couple of days. It seemed to fit ok, but I did notice it fits very close behind the front legs. Came back from a 1hr walk this afternoon and he is red raw behind his front legs where the harness has been rubbing. Very expensive mistake.

Re: el perro. or strong stuff
I have the fleece comfort harness. the one in the picture of paul/beau looks like the triple harness which is a different design and looks like it sits further back and away from the front legs. I bought the fleece one as I thought it wouldn't chafe.

Re: el perro. or strong stuff
We have the fleece one as Oz is quite bald and everything else rubs, his sits quite far back, does this help?

Here are the pics of the harness on Densil so you can see how close to his front leg they are. Rubbed sudocrem on his sore and it is much better today.

It doesn't leave him much room, can see how it could have rubbed.

Re: el perro. or strong stuff
It looks, to me, like it needs to be more adjustable especially so you can change the length of the piece where the D rings are. This way the body strap piece will sit further back, hope that makes sense.

Re: el perro. or strong stuff
Poor Densil is really in the wars this week. I have put a dap collar on him ready for his holiday trip - he has had it on 2 days and I notice it has made his neck red. I put it on tight enough to be able to slip three fingers underneath, but when I took it off and checked it there is a plastic ridge running alongside the inner collar and this is what has chafed, so hubby has rubbed it down with sandpaper, but leaving it off until his neck has healed.

Re: el perro. or strong stuff
O bless him I can see how his harness rubs, it is a lot closer to his front kegs than Ozzys anything rubs Oz and I have to be really careful so the el perro suits him, it's a shame Densiks doesn't fun him

Re: el perro. or strong stuff
I have contected el perro and sent them the pictures and they are going to see what they can do. as somebody suggested if the back piece was a bit longer this would take it further away from his legs. I think Densil is just an awkward shape as I have had problems when i got a thundershirt it didn't fit properly and the same with his coat - it is too long.

Re: el perro. or strong stuff
I have ordered 2 x El Perro fleece harnesses as I noticed a couple of weeks back Roxie's Julius K9 harness is starting to rub two patches on her side (she has very fine soft fur). We had already put a fluffy bit on the front to stop the front strap rubbing. Don't know why suddenly it is rubbing two patches on her body. Anyway, after reading poor Densil's problems, I have just emailed them to enquire about how they measure where the body strap is in relation to the measurements given, ie, is it an inch from behind the legs. I am a bit worried now?? Anyone know how long they take to be delivered - ordered on 25 February?

That looks so uncomfortable bless him! I can't afford the harness, only have the collar which has been perfect for Biscuit, want to get her a personalized one for her birthday I use the trixie fleece harnesses, has no problems so far and no rubbing, only £15 too

It arrived today, just as you predicted. Maisey's has been delayed but they did email to advise this.flowerbud wrote:saffi28 wrote:I have ordered 2 x El Perro fleece harnesses as I noticed a couple of weeks back Roxie's Julius K9 harness is starting to rub two patches on her side (she has very fine soft fur). It looks absolutely fab, very well made. When I get home later I will try it on and fingers crossed it fits okay.
