Can anyone help me find a new home for my beautiful Staffy...
Hi all
I am trying to find my beautiful Staffy a new home... His name is Eli and he is 3 years old...
He has been neutered, micro-chipped and vaccinated.
The ONLY reason that I need to find him a new home is because we are moving to Spain shortly and have had no success so far advertising him on various websites and in shop windows).
I originally rescued him from Manchester Dogs Home where he was in a terrible condition... as you can see from the pics he has been restored to the beautiful Staffy he is...
He is an excellent dog, no aggression at all, good with children, surprisingly calm for a Staff and so obedient. He is a great loving dog and is very quiet and calm... He is not a barker or a whiner as many staffys are...
At the time I rescued him I thought that I could give him a stable home for the rest of his life however due to a change of circumstances cannot keep him... I simply can't bear to take him back to 'Manchester dogs home' and have been trying my best to find him a loving new owner to take him...
I am really looking for someone with experience of the breed and who appreciates the beautiful nature of these dogs and someone who can give him the love he deserves... and treat him well... It breaks my heart to think that he could ever end up in the wrong hands...
Please email me and I will get back to you asap... We are in the Manchester area... Any help would be appreciated... You can email me on clairebrett1@yahoo.co.uk or post a reply... thanks

what a lovely dog well done on rescuin him why can you not take him to spain with you as it not hard to arange and not to far what with a couple of injections and a doggy passport you could have your freind for life and he would;nt even have to fly you could make it an adventure and drive.

Thanks for the reply... yeah he is fab
I did look into it and you are completely right, it is very easy to take him to Spain... It is because of the accomodation we will be staying in won't allow for a dog and we will also be sharing at first...
It is really a last resort that I have to find him a new owner...

Re: Can anyone help me find a new home for my beautiful Staffy...
hmmmmm This is a hard one, normally this is where i start spouting off about yet another staffy being dumped and he's your responsibility and lah die da....but i do feel this situation may be slightly different. Is there no way what so ever you can take him with u? Find different accomadation etc....Its just that if this dog gets but back into the rescue system he will be at high risk of being transfered about and will end up being pts :-( Its a harsh truth im affraid as these are such hard times for staffies at the moment. I admire your trying to do ur best by rehoming him but i feel for this poor boy in the long run....Good luck little Eli.....you'll need it
Good luck to you to in trying to find him another loving responsible forever home!

Re: Can anyone help me find a new home for my beautiful Staffy...
Thanks so much for your replies.... I will try and see if I can find someone short-term to look after him and hopefully be able to bring him with us in the future...
It is so difficult as I've found that no-one seems to want a staffie???... the educated people who appreciate the lovely nature of staffs, already have them and can't take another...
My parents have 2 staffs and can't take another (as they have a male who hates other male dogs...)
I may look at whether or not I can find a cheap boarding kennels to look after him for as long as I can afford to...
As I said if anyone knows anybody who would be able to take him long or short-term ... please please pleaseeee let me know...
Thanks again for all your help

Re: Can anyone help me find a new home for my beautiful Staffy...
Just a quick update... Fingers crossed I have found a lovely home for Eli...
A great couple have taken him... we took him to their house tonight and they already have a 1 year female staffy... (who is beautiful)
They seem to get on ok, they had a few little snaps and a couple of fights (but not really biting more of warning growls and jumping at each other) while we were there, but I think that this might be normal at first?
In general they seem to get on ok, they were even both playing with the same stick and eating out of the same bowl at one point...
Just wondered if anyone knows, is this a good sign... what do you think is the probability that they will end up best friends.. based on what i've mentioned????
Fingers crossed that it continues well and they can keep him... I hope so as they will love him as much as we do...

Re: Can anyone help me find a new home for my beautiful Staffy...
Thank you...
I know... , they did say that we could visit him before we go and anytime we are back in England so I hope that might help... I do miss him soooooo much already... it really was heart-wrenching walking away...
and coming home and him not waiting at the door... It's very surreal.. will take some time to get used to
Has been a very tough and sad decision...
I have some comfort knowing that he has a safe and (fingers crossed) stable home though...

Re: Can anyone help me find a new home for my beautiful Staffy...
The best way to introduce dogs for the first time is to walk them together in a netural place. The growls and snaps were probably beacuse eli was new and a stranger on the other dogs terrotry (spelling?) and also beacuse eli was defencive coz he new he was on a another dogs terrotry.....if i was you i would get lots of netural walks in and lots of praise for both of them and treats at the same time before u drop him off for good! It will be eaiser for both of them.
