What do you fill your dogs KONG with ???

Post by Guest on Thu Apr 28, 2011 2:06 pm

Hello again,

I bought young Roxy a Kong and also a tin of Kong Stuff-it ( not sure of the exact name, but it's Kong branded ) which cost about $15 a can ( Australian )

Anyway, I was just wondering what other things I could use to fill the Kong which would interest her but at the same time be relatively healthy and not cause tummy upset ( and of course, be suitable for a dog to eat )

What do you use?

fish4dogs treats, all kinds inside the Kong, then plug the end with low fat cheese spread, peanut butter, anything like that and freeze it. the actual Kong stuff is way expensive and Cairo didnt really like it

Sophie has a Kong which we fil with cooked sausage, cheese and fish paste, she loves it. Normally we give it to her when we are going out so it keeps her occupied .

I wouldnt use the Kong stuffing.... full of unnecessary additives and very expensive!!! sick I use the things mentioned above, putting it in the freezer helps them last longer wink

Peanut butter and frozen peas together ????

Sorry to sound really dumb, but when you say cheese spread...do u just use the jar from the supermarket in the jams/spreads section or is a special type?

They don't get much processed people food around here, so I prefer using canned dog food or the "mousse" kinds. You can often find quite good quality, cheap canned food! Have used cheese spreads and liver pate in the past, too.
