Hello from Sofia, Bulgaria

Hello all,

My name is Vladimir Ignatov and I live in Sofia, Bulgaria. I am the founder of "Jack Russell Terrier - Bulgaria" and owner of Bullet (a jack russell terrier). I want to have a second dog now and I am truly in love with the staffordshire bull terrier breed and I came across your page. I am a huge fan of Aston Villa and I want to take my dog from this area, Bullet's parents are also from Birmingham, imported in Bulgaria long time ago.
Will be very grateful  to you all if you can help me to find some trustworthy breeders in this area? I already found : Janikastco, Manark & Elitebulls. And I prefer the blue line

It is not good to breed Blue on Blue due to the high risk of CDA ( colour dilution alapecia ) do you have a link to the breeder

Dad comes from 2 Blu parents too so another higher risk factor I would avoid the mating

See this is a czech kennel so not much we can find out in the UK , all I can really say from my own opinion and knowledge is avoid it , the only way to get a Blue is to get from either 2 Black n Brindle parents or a Black and Blue mating

I will ask them about the high risk of CDA and will see what they'll say. Could you tell me more about this disease?

The condition can skip generations too so just because the parents have not had problems does not guarantee the pups won't , but at the end of the day you came her for some advice and we are giving it to you , we can't make you accept it

no its just a Blue thing , so solid Blue , Blue Brindle , Blue n White ........................ all the same

How did you reach this COI figure ?? When I look to the Kennel club site for the Sire I get 3 hits 1 Lord of the Ring , and 2 Lord of the Rings ( no results on the last 2 ) so not enough info to know the calculation is correct and that I have the right dog , Sire and Dams come out at 7% and 9% or vice -versa ( I did it manually from the parents but this does not permit you to put together an accurate theoretical mating )

I am not sure if there will be any data if the Sire is registered in CZ

As I say if you go on Mateselect their are 2 results for "Lord of the Rings" and the site says that there is not enough data to make the calculation so I'm not sure where you are getting your figure of 1% from ???

If you look at the individual COI calc for the sire you will see what I mean , I think there is a problem with the records so you don't get the correct calculation

No there is no screening test for CDA and it may seem fine in the very early stages and dogs can be as old as 3 before it appears , it can pass by some dogs and not others so you really have no way of knowing I'm afraid until it is too late

However Dave is correct about the line, there are too many Blue on Blue matings. I was unaware of this when I got Lily, I would have chosen differently had I been aware of this at the time.

Mmm , beautiful looking dogs but guess they have some common ancestors on both sides between either Sire and the Dam but I have to say I love the look of Alport Fire Cracker , just the COI increases putting the 2 together , and remains more or less the same with the other pairing , only up to 9% though

You are welcome, Dave! Both options for a Sire are amazing dogs, I am so happy! And I will be the first ever export for Elitebulls, this will be truly an honor for me! If there are some og you around Birmingham we can meet in May, it will be a pleasure for me!  

I think I know the owner of Elitebulls via FB , will have to go looking So what will you do drive over to take puppy home to Bulgaria ???

You could pay me to fly out there and deliver pup + 1 weeks expenses , we might just have to wait a month until the sun comes out though   Big choice for me , 1 week in the sun in Bulgaria or free Puppy
