Well came down to hell of a mess this morning from Vinnie, It was every where, anyway has had no food today and seems ok not his usual self but guess he may be tired. What is worrying me is on our walk he had the squirts and it was mainly blood. Only twice he had it and was ok after that. Should I be worried? x

Can you get in to see the vet today ? Passing blood is never a good sign best to get it checked by the pro's.

Ok thanks all, though I did wonder if it was strain. He has been running round here with his ball like a loon so don't think too much wrong. But will keep a close eye on him x

You could try giving him a couple of hard boiled eggs for his breakfast & see what happens afterwards. But if it happens again, I'd pop him to the vets.

Poor Vinnie! Hope he's feeling better!

The general rule about blood in the stool is to look at the colour. If it's bright red, it's fresh and has originated in the lower part of the digestive system, i.e., the rectum. This is usually nothing to worry about, unless it's causing pain, distress or it's prolonged. If it's dark and tarry, it's from the upper digestive tract and could indicate something more severe, such as an ulcer or perforation of the gut lining.

Good to hear that Vinnie is better today.

There seems to have been a lot of this about recently, doesn't there.
