Humping teddy!

Roman had his 3 month birthday on Monday and has started to hump his teddy on a couple of occasions.

Is he not too young to be even thinking about this sort of thing?!

He's got some moves though, il give him that haha

No, he isn't too young! 

Some start the second hormones start coursing through them, others wait till they're a bit more mature. Dempsey was humping at about 9 weeks old!

We just try to distract him - plus a firm "No!" will often make him think twice.

I couldn't stop laughing. I'm in the middle of eating my tea and Roman has taken his teddy to his den to seduce it!

I suppose humping is better than shredding? I can't give Wrigley soft toys unless under direct supervision (his 1st toy, the precious lobster with squeaky claws has a 5 minute maximum). Every toy has to be indestructable! Have you thought about switching to hard rubber toys?

Haha jenson is 6mths and only caught him humping once ... when he has his often 10 min go mad moments ... he was attacking his bed it went from biteing it ... dragging it ... then humping!!!

Just looking at his bed now... He has soft toys, hard toys (not a fan of his kong), teething toys, ropes, tennis balls and his blanket. I suppose you are right, showing his 'soft' side is better than him ripping them to bits (he saved that for his giant tennis ball!)

Those 10 minute mad moments are crazy aren't they! i used to get really stressed out but I think he played on that so I just don't give him any attention and he soon settles

I'm sure you could think of something to distract him with,

Zeus did the exact same at that age! He was literally 12/13 weeks old when we introduced a teddy and he used to hump it and generally go crazy with it, so we took it away. Now, whenever we give him a teddy, he just wants to shred it apart!

Haha Zeus sounds a character. Roman has had his teddy since 8 weeks but suddenly saw it in a different light the other day lol. We have got him this pig that grunts when you squeeze it cos we say Roman looks like a piglet when he's laid on his back, it's one of his favourite toys apart from his rope and tennis ball which he loves to play fetch with

Chiquito loves his soft toys .. currently he has little and big ted whom he loves to pieces (and eventually one day that is what they will end up in!). He humps them ... and his bed, his blanket, the lounge cushions and me  I don't take anything away from him, distraction and a firm 'stop' or 'no' work well

Now when he is older  

   

   

 

  at least its only his teddy! sorry, you just have to try and distract him as much as possible. I did laugh though!
