I've just seen it on fb, so sad for everybody  

I read it at work and it made what was a bad day into an awful.

Terrible. Seems like something that was meant to be good and educational went horribly wrong

Story is abit odd, it says the dog flicked his head and caught the child, but then the child was mauled?

How sad...by the sounds of it the child came up beside the dog instead of in front, it might have she made the dog jump :/

Sad story and hope the child is safe and well.

The dog has been put into a situation it might not have been comfortable with. Loads of screaming kids and things might of got too much. As we all know, u can never be 100% when it comes to kids and dogs. Think they should of muzzled the dog if being put in an environment like this.

It was a malamute, not a terrier type. Not a dog i would generally put in confinement with kids and definitely not a dog i would pester over and over again by bringing out one child at a time to

I saw this report earlier, and they didn't mention the dog type at all.

As Chiara says, a good idea which went horribly wrong. A continuous parade of young children fussing the dog may have made it flip, I should imagine that it might wear any dog to the end of it's patience - who knows.

I can understand why the teacher put her dog down - it must be hell for her, but imagine the outcry if she didn't.

I hope the child recovers fully. A very sad occurrence for all concerned.

I doubt the teacher had a lot f say in the matter.

She probably didn't, she was over a barrel wasn't she.
