My Dogo canario

But here is my Dogo Canario female Justina....

Parents Riochas Riverdance and Okki show Xantiland....

Imported from norway but with a polish father....

He's nice never heard of them but just googled images and alot seem to have there ears cropped, it looks nicer with the full ears

Justina is a female and yes they are usually cropped but i also prefer them with ears....

They are very protective of their owners and suspicous of strangers combined with a strong temprament so they are not a breed for everyone you really have to understand their background before you decide to own one...

Not heard of them either, but what lovely colouring and such a sweet face

Very impressive. I've heard of them, but never known someone who has them. Are they difficult, or just strong natured?

That is all depending on the individuall...

But yes some can be difficult others just strong natured....


But as with all these mastiff type guard/protection dogs you have to have a proper knowledge around the breed otherwise they can be really dangerous, just because they have alot of character and has a tendensy to act first and ask questions later when it comes to protect its owner.....

Some say that they dont have a place in our sociaty but i beg the difference there is worse kinds of dogs then these.....

But they need a really proper training and socalisation as pups....

I can honestly say that i feel 100% save when i walk at night with Justina since she is not alowing anyone she does not know within 10 meters from me....

Lovely dogs, I know someone whos got one over here (naughty naughty!) but as the OP says very strong willed!

To be honest when it's in that position, it's pretty simular to a staffy

I can not tell exactly because there is a couple of breeders who is not serious at all

One is spitting out litter after litter after litter with out any goal in their breeding the pups are not typical to the breed at all and the other one breeds and sells pups after non health tested parents and there is only after 2 litters 6 pups that has been put to sleep becuase of different health issues....

But yes the breed is starting to grow in numbers but in the wrong way...
