Fostering a greyhound Empty Fostering a greyhound

A lady I see regularly at the park recently lost her 16 year old rescue greyhound. She just curled up next to her one day & died. Sad

She's obviously been very upset, but last week she took a large bag of old clothes to Greyhound Rescue for them to sell in their charity shop & the lady said for her to come & have a look at an ex racing greyhound which had been in the kennels for a couple of months. Nobody wanted her because she wasn't 'pretty', and she wondered whether this lady would be prepared to foster her until they could find a home.

So, she took the little lady home, with the assurance that it would only be short term because she really didn't want another dog yet.

Hahahaha! Short term my a*s! She's just told them she'll adopt her! Big Grin

I don't like greyhounds much, but she's a sweet, nervous little thing. The reason no one wanted her is because someone has cut off one of her ears so she looks a bit lop sided - poor thing!

Arrrr bless her. Good for them
Not to keen on greyhounds myself. I always think they look to thin, I'd end up killing it trying to beef it up a bit Laughing

How lovely to read such a happy ending story. Over here there are always unwanted greyhounds looking for homes....I feel sorry for them. They run their races..when they stop racing.. they get a bullet. Gee thanks for winning all that money for me over the years. .. now..where's that gun?Now greyhounds aren't really my cup of tea but people who have owned one always say how gentle they are and that they make loving pets..The usual story isn't it..too many unwanted pets..not enough good homes for them all...
