Sad Stress peeing??

Post by mrsxg Fri Jan 04 2013, 00:28

Hi all, sorry I've not been around much!
Its been a bit hectic...
I've left my husband, we're divorcing & I've moved back home to my parents. I also had an operation 2 weeks ago.

Lola has coped well so far until the other night.
My folks took her into their room for the night as my dad & Lola have a very special bond.
She peed the bed overnight even though she had been out at 11pm & she can usually go 12-14 hours without making a mess.
We put it down to all the rich food that night from leftover Christmas dinner.
But tonight my parents went to go to bed & there was some more wee-wee :/

She's just finished a season (3-4 days ago), I've not been able to walk her due to her being in heat & it's all aggressive male dogs around here & because of my operation.

Is it possibly a urine infection as she is peeing a lot when she goes into the garden, or is it just all the rich food over the festive period or the stress from all the changes or a combo of all the above??
She's eating fine & drinking fine, no more than usual.

Am gonna get a vet appt timorrow for her but any advice apprectiated Smile

Sorry to hear you've been through a lot recently.

Well, moving to another house and all those kinds of changes can definitely stress a dog out just like it can a person, so it could be that, but I'm afraid I don't have any advice. Hope it goes well with the vet Smile

What a rotten time for you, but it's good to see you back.

I'd get her checked for a UTI first, but if it isn't that, it will almost certainly be the stress of the move, and she may need some time to settle down to the new surroundings / routine.

In the meantime, you might want to try & keep her off the bed! Big Grin

I would also think UTI first but the stress could definately be contributing as well.
