excessive water drinking

Post by Lisa & Cairo on Tue 8 Feb 2011 - 14:27

Ive noticed for the past few days Cairo has been at her water bowl drinking alot of water at a time, and quite often too.I cant put it down to the weather as it isnt hot,so i was thinking of taking her to the vets as i know it can be a kidney or diabetes problem ( im hoping its not the case).I was wondering if anyone else had any ideas?

If nothing else has changed like her food or the amount of exercise she's having then I would make a trip to the vets if it's allot more water she's drinking.
It will probably be nothing but it's always worth checking out for peace of mind. Let us all know how she gets on. Good luck

When we changed Millys food she drank more for a few days but as Blue said if nothing has changed would go to the vets just to put your mind at rest.

There are many things it could be, but as with anything excessive, you'd be well advised to seek a vet's advice.
