small bumps?

Post by laura-saff on Fri Jan 21, 2011 12:20 am

Hi, feel abit daft asking this but I've looked through pages and pages on the internet about this and keep finding that many different things its confusing me abit.
When we got saffy mid november she had a small hard lump on her chest which was only noticeable by touch, and it didn't seem to bother her at all so we assumed it wasn't a problem. Recently I have found a few more new ones, as I always like to have a good check over of her when I can, with the most recent one being a bit bigger on the back of her neck top of her back area. There not bothering her at all and I can't see what they are like through her fur, just wondering if anyone knows what they could be?

Thanks Smile

Ok thanks, I thought I'd quickly google it and the amount of different stuff I found made me panic. But yeah she's not bothered by them what so ever, was just worried as the other few came just recently around the same time and are bigger.

Ill keep my eye on them thanks for the reassurance!
x

What do they feel like & exactly how big are they? I know you say they're hard, but do they move when you feel them?

Just had a feel and the one she already had was like small pimple sized but hard under the skin, one on her rib area the same that im pretty sure wasn't there before, and then this one on her neck definitely wasn't and sounds daft but dunno how else to explain it it fills the end of your finger tip so quite a bit bigger and that's hard as well.
We keep finding them randomly every now and again when people are stroking her :s

Thanks x

To be honest, although I doubt they're anything nasty as they don't appear to be grouped in any way, I'd let the vet have a quick look. If they were movable then I'd say they were just fat lumps or cysts, but it doesn't sound like it. It could, of course, be an allergy - they can show up in funny ways.

Laura, my last dog had about 20 of these lumps off during her time 19 of them were harmless lumps but 1 was the start of a tumour so after that one we had them all removed if we discovered one, best to get them checked by the vet

sure Saffy will be fine but for piece of mind get her checked
