Since yesterday afternoon Jellybean has been either sitting or lying down shaking like she's scared of something and very VERY quiet. Otherwise, all is normal: eating just fine, peeing and pooing normally, nothing weird in her poo, slept through the night, no vomiting...

All she wants to do is cuddle, be held, sleep on a lap. No interest in playing, but she was VERY excited as usual to see my step-kids come over yesterday afternoon, so we're trying putting her on their bed now to play or just hang out with them.

We've looked up what makes dogs shiver and none of those things apply here. I don't think she's eaten anything weird, not that I can tell from looking around the garden.

Any thoughts on what could be up? She was totally fine, normal, even barking and pulling on her leash and all that yesterday until about 4 pm ish.

If she is drinking normally as well I'm not sure what could be the issue. Is there anything new in or around your house? Is there any construction or new loud noises?

yep, drinking normally too. all is well, except for the shaking and not doing anything. nothing new, no weird sounds, no new plants in the garden...

i did notice the little plastic squeaker in her squeaky bone is gone, so maybe she swallowed that. I would have thought she would be throwing up by now though.

right now she's just sleeping on my lap. we have an appointment at the vet in a few hours but we'll try to walk her and see if she's interested in that.

Tango does that when he has a upset stomach, But if eating fine and drinking with no problems I wouldn't worry too much. But a trip to the vet sounds like it's needed just to rule out anything else it could be. I hope all goes well and back to normal very soon Big Grin

well, we took her out pre-vet to see if she wanted to walk a bit, and she did, all normal. then we took her to the park to see if she wanted to run around with other dogs she knows there and she did. totally fine. so we cancelled the vet for now. she's back home, wandering the house, normal self so far.

i dont know

we'll keep an eye on her. thanks all Smile

Sounds a bit odd, could she have been bitten or stung by something ?

we started thinking maybe something like that. might have tried to eat a bee or something, because she was clearing her throat, for lack of a better term, now and then. and VERY quiet, no barking to speak of. She's full of beans now. Love Struck

Something could have frightened her. Just keep a sharp eye for now.

When you say shaking do you mean just her legs a bit? Or full on whole body? Anxious dogs will shake so maybe try some calmin things like a doggy massage or lavender. Lexi Shakes when she goes to the vets but is still really cuddly and excited, I ignore the shaking as it could make her worse.

it was her whole body. she's fine, even better than before actually - better recall, better obedience generally. weird, but i'll take it!
