What does your dog do during your family’s mealtimes?

Cairo eats from her own bowl.She watches when your eating,but doesnt beg.

Katie sits down under the table waiting for food to fall on the floor

Blue sits at my feet, but to be fare to the dog that's not just at meal time.........it all the time, watching tv, on the toilet and driving is becoming a knightmare

I've always taught mine to lay down, away from the table. The Collies even used to have to put their heads down between their paws, but I've not been able to teach that one to the bullies!!

my two eat from their bowls then come and sit at the feet watching you put every mouth full into your mouth till its all gone then when you take the plates in to the kit they are stait in after you to see wot they can get....


witch is never a lot from my plate,im to gredy and not a share,er...............

I don't allow mine to eat off the plates. They don't actually get 'leftovers' at all. Because our food isn't theirs.

They also eat after us, rarely before.

one thing i used to do when my 2 were young was eat out of their bowls then give them their dinner after me....

they use to look at me like wot the hell is going on......................

Samson sits under the table or goes and lays in his crate, he's never had a tit bit so doesn't associate our food with him getting fed, the reason he's never had a tit bit he has a sensitive stomach so he only get dog treats

Vins and Gizz just sit there looking at us. We ignore them. They don't whine or anything they just look and often Vins will drool. I know its disgusting but i do let them lick the plates.

Kuma will lie under the table but watch your mouth not your eyes.. then a tell her off so she walks away to the other couch sits down and looks gain till you actully scream and then she walks away really slowly Dont't like shouting at her but this only happins when we forget to close the baby gate and she follows us in with food.

after what seems like a million years mine will finally now wait in "their space" about 3 metres from the table and either sit or lie down but will stay there without coming any closer (untill we say they can). Its taken ages and me eating my dinner cold and getting up a billlion times but its worth it now! x

mine just lay about 2-3 foot away respectfully with their heads down. or they go to their crates, they no better than to watch me or whine or anything. I don't let them lick the plate they do not have left overs they have dog food because they are dogs

Harley jumps up and steals the food right off the fork just as it's about to go into my mouth. Great way to lose weight though.

Buster only prefers my OH at mealtimes, he knows OH will always give him something. Once the food has gone, Buster is back firmly by my side.

Charlie is in his crate at meal times. I dont shut him in, the door stays open but he knows to stay in there while we're eating. Once we've all eaten, I give him his food. He doesnt get leftovers nor does he lick the plates.

Does anyone REALLY have to ask what a dog does at mealtimes? He begs for food! It might be at a 'respectable distance'...it might be 'submissively'... but they are laying there looking directly at you anyway and hopefully one day, they are going to get dropped something off Steves plate (I dont feed them and besides, why would they want vegetarian food ECH!...) so I guess the answer to this is beg...beg....BEG...till one day it works (lord help us if they ever DO evolve opposible thumbs, nowhere will be safe!)

Lies on the sofa a few metres away, trying Jedi mind tricks to make food levitate towards him.
The rescue centre said he was a terrible beggar but ignoring him and sending him away a few times got the message through.
He will sit under my ex-boss's feet though, if the ex-boss and his wife visit - they sneak him bits of grub.

she lays around pretending to ignore us as she knows there are always a few leftovers coming her way, though if its lunchtime and we are in the office at home together she will just give me a sorry look to get some of my sandwich (just in case I decide to eat it all myself)
