Do you let your dog lick you?

Do you let your dog lick you? If you do, do you put limits on the licking (no mouth or face licking) or it just doesn't matter where your dog licks you?

I'm sorry to say that although I don't encourage licking on the face, Dempsey often gets away with a couple of slimy wet ones!

Charlie is always licking me. I don't mind it on my hands but I don't like him licking my face. He always sneaks one in though!!

chin cheeks nose are all fair go areas but i wont let him lick mouths or eyes lol
ooooh and he loves ear licking hahaha

Ty isnt really a licker but kaos will try and lick anything and everything lol, i dont encourage it thoughx

My Ty is a licker I dont like face licks but when he pins me down and sits on my chest I have no choise lol. I dont mind licking but try to stay away from face licks but they are hard to avoid sometimes lmao. He does like a good ear licking to.

I don't usually let Buster lick me, which is probably why he gets one in whenever he gets the opportunity. However, on one occasion after a few drinks I decided to let him lick me as much as he wanted. I even let him gently chew my lip. Subsequently my lip was a bit tender the next day.

Milly is a licker especially when we come home from work

Well I agree to the mouth licking part... not for me.. but first thing in the mornign when she is let out of her crate... it is free for all.. she is so excited and just goes to town on what ever is closest lol

I dont let any dogs lick my face, Steve lets Bezial groom his beard, my daughter lets Qi tounge kiss her (EWWWWW!!!) and my oldest daughter spends her time washing her hands furiously if any of the dogs even sniff at them so you have a very wide variation in answers so I dont think that I can choose one answer to rule them all!

I've gotten used to it...hated it at first and I discovered if I let him lick me as much as he wants when I get home from work, he's fine after that. It's sort of like he's re-establishing his claim or something. Licks a little bit when we wake up in the morning and, if I don't go out, that's just about it.

I let Suki give me kisses whenever she wants. She is also notorious for giving kisses to everyone she meets

I let Saxon lick me, but I do sto him if it goes on for too long. Since I got back from Finland he has been licking my legs A LOT and it starts to annoy me after a little while!

im not one for licking but i did no a bloke that used to take his dog the pub and let him have the first bit of his pint i cant say im into that

Well when I say to Jethro "give mummy a kiss" he licks the side of my face, and now Winston already knows that too! But sometimes instead of a lick.. he will try to bite my nose!! ( normally I am ready for him .. but he has taken me by surprise a few times!! )

Yup. Shwoing affection to your 'packmates' is part of natural life for a dog so Casey can lick me wherever she wants ad whenever but a dog licking you is just as unhygeneic as a person kissing tbh!

I don't encourage it but I don't get mad at Russell when he does lick me, I just push him away if I don't feel like it!

I've had a few of those as well

If you put you face next to Mia's and say kiss she'll give a little lick on the cheek!!

Other times she just goes crazy licking and I have to get the oh to remove her from me as she pins me down on the floor!!

She licks and nibbles my hubby constantly too! Which lasts about 2 minutes before she gets too much!!

Both mine give kisses sometimes i get pinned but soon as i say off skye usually stops licking and sits beside me
Skye used to lick my familys legs as we got out of the shower but she stopped and now buster does it instead lol

Leia does lick us but not for long. we ask her for a kiss and she gives us one lol. She loves licking ears which can be annoying. I understand why people hate it but probably more hygenic than kissing children sometimes ha ha.
