WHAT SEX?
Male or Female
Soooo who has a male and who has a female?..
and why did you choose that sex?
I got a female because they dont grown as big as males and also because when we go away i wanted to leave her with my sister and Titan would not have accepted a male.. we are lucky he has accepted her ( for now)

Re: Male or Female
I got a female because she was the last of the litter
Well, she was actually a total surpise, best valentines day present ever.
I want to get a male at some point. I'd be happy with either gender to be honest.

Re: Male or Female
I got a female because they don't want to stop and pee every 5yards.... I have always had females of German Shepards before never had a male dog...I think they tend to be more "faithful" if that's the right word...
Re: Male or Female
I've had both, but the last 4 dogs have all been male, all un-neutered.
They both have their merits, but as I wouldn't neuter without a medical reason, I prefer males so I don't have to cope with the twice yearly seasons any more!
Males, however, can be a real challenge & are often not for the faint hearted.

Re: Male or Female
I have had both male and female dogs. I find males less temperamental, more affectionate and more obedient. Females tend to be more aloof, and want everything on their terms. I like both male and females dogs as a dog lover, but as an owner, I'll prob only ever have males.

Re: Male or Female
I have found that males will also like to wander, especially if they get the scent of a female on heat... I have posted elsewhere about next doors spaniel (Alfie) going for walkabout taking Piggy with him...it could have ended in disaster as they went on to a busy road and piggy got hit but on got minor grazing...we live down a farm track about a mile from the road but we figure they went across the fields and found the road...Alfie has gone walk about a couple of times so I do keep an eye on them more...
Re: Male or Female
I have 2 boys and 1 girl.
I have to say Rocco is much easier than Dixie and Deano is a challenge every day at the moment, but he is 7 months old!
They are all as loving as each other, but my god, Dixie does so much whinging and is more vocal than the boys!

I've never had a problem with wandering, mainly because my dogs are always in a secure environment where they can't get out. When I'm walking them they are on a lead unless there are no other dogs around. Males will rarely just 'air scent' a female - they normally sniff walls/trees/ground intently where the on-heat bitch has been and they are easy enough to catch up with!

Re: Male or Female
Well Piggy is free range on the farm and when we go to the beach she is off the lead to run...she's good with other dogs and children, she just loves them.... but I think the spaniel has a good nose for the girls ... we had Piggy speyed so don't have the problem with seasons....

Re: Male or Female
Well we have a boy & girl of different litters and the same age 5 months. We have found that my boyfriends male tends to come to me, and my girl prefers him. Tyson is constantly being a mischeif maker and Paris is so laid back, suppose all dogs are different.

Re: Male or Female
I don't mind either. Is it just my experience or are all males just more lovable, affectionate and easy to train, I'v taught Taz many thing including paw just getting Cssie to sit sometime is a shruggle lol and she is no way affectionate. Taz will sit and stare at me when i ask him what do you want he give me a kiss and walk away and carry on doing what was before lol simply getting a kiss off cassie is hard work unless theres food involved and she's excited.
I know some dogs are people oriented and some are dog oriented cassie definately perfers the contact of dogs.

Re: Male or Female
Our boy LOVES to sniff and drives us batty dragging us down the road to sniff every lamp post, every blade of grass etc. The little girl isnt interested much in sniffing. Qi barks more than Bezial and tends to be the instigator of all naughtiness where Bezial tends to lay around doing not very much at all and isnt the brains behind the schemes. I guess it really depends on what you are after? Girls are more protective of your kids, Boys tend to be more interested in 'the world' and who has been there first. Your choice!

Re: Male or Female
i got a female first as they are smaller as my wife was scared of the breed know she has fallen in love with them and my son just turned 5 he know to tell her sit stay drop leave she listens like its me telling her.he feeds her asks to brush pretty much everything and when he asked me if he could have one
my only choice was a male as madam would not let another female in the yard.

Re: Male or Female
We got both now but had a bitch first as my other half said we had to get a bitch. I wanted a staffy and she did not as she belived in the stereo type and they have and thought they were horrible dogs but I said if we get a dog has to be a Blue Staffy an she said if we get one it has to be a bitch (She dont like the lip stick comming out to say hello).
But then we wanted another one and as its better to get one of each she had no choice in the matter

Re: Male or Female
I got Saxon after I had a dream where my grandfather gave me his dog. In the dream the dog was a male, red and while bulldog/bull and terrier type thing named Saxon. A few weeks later I found this beautiful little boy online. His family had him for 3 months and didn't want him any more, he was too much work for them. They got him from a breeder, but didn't get his papers. He came home with me and he is the best dog I've ever had! I got a male because it was meant to be.

Re: Male or Female
Having owned and been around both Iv found females can be a bit scatty at times and fretful, more vocal and gentler. boys take things in their stride more, want to be at your side, clumsy and easy to train.. both are extremely affectionate.
I just love the chunkyness of males..don't get me wrong I love my little girlie but I prefer the boys..

Buster is a male. I only got male as I already had LuLu and figured that getting a staffy the opposite sex would be best as I don't want to risk any problems with them not getting on later
