Deano is just over 10kg and is 25 weeks. But he does potentially have whippet/lurcher in him. He is 14" to the withers.

I think 12 kilos sounds ok. They all grow at different rates, anyway. As long as he's not over-thin & is fit & healthy, then he's the right weight!

My post wasn't in answer to yours shane, it just got posted at the same time! I agree, he doesn't seem underweight at all!

It's good, but there are others just as good, but cheaper! I'd go for Royal Canin or James Wellbeloved - there's a thread on here somewhere about dry foods. I can't say from experience cause I feed raw.

I bought Blue Science plan at first and it didn't agree with him. I think wainwrights from pets at home was a much better food and cheaper.

Re: staffies growth and weight
looked at the link with the dry foods some of them are quite exspensive. i want him on dry food a lot of people have said its better than tined food. but the other half has gone and bought tined food now. ideally i want him on dry but want him to have a bit of meat with it. any ideas cheers

Re: staffies growth and weight
Dry is much better really tinned food is mostly water and wont fill him up half as much! If the foods on the list are to expensive for you then in asda they sell "harringtons" is 2 or 3 quid for a small bag. Dont get me wrong its not half as good as the other foods ive listed but id rather people feed there dog that than pegigree or bakers etc. If u want something to mix in with it there is no need to use tinned meat it really is useless instead mix in a raw egg/tinned sardines in oil/table sppoon or 2 of veg oil/tuna ummmm theres more things but i cant think off the top of my head! These can be added once a week and will be nutritious and make his coat gleam x

I've always said buy the best you can afford. That might be the top priced one or it might be a cheaper one. What you have to remember is you get what you pay for!

Re: staffies growth and weight
i started off on eukanuba with shady and tbh i didnt think much of it , even a realtivly cheap dry food will do supplimented with sardines , tripe , raw chicken legs thighs wings , there's no need to go hungry for the sake of the dog getting dry food at £40 a pop lol

tell her dry is definitely better than tinned or pouches! I take it she wouldn't want to be doing with raw?

im trying pero at the moment and memphis is doing well on it i went onto there web page and got a 3kg sample puppy bag for £5 and you get a voucer for £5 off your next purchase of jr food and that is 20 quid for a 10kg sack so you get that for £15 and they also do a adult staffy dry food so will be going onto that when he older
