How big was your staffy?

Hey i was just wondering is my puppy is small. Because she seems small but staffys are small so i have no idea...
Ok she is about 10kg and just over 30cm to the shoulders.
Is this normal size for a staffy at 7 months?

staffys come in all shapes and sizes so this is a hard one to answer by the picks she looks perfect if not a little younger than 7 months ???
mine is 5 months and a touch over 14kg but looks older than yours lol

well i think she just turned 7 months

but from the pics and stuff she doesnt look like a midjet? lol

oh and i think the reason why yours would look more mature and be bigger is because your is male and mines female

saying that his sister is about 2kg lighter than him but still looks as old but like i say you got nothin to worry about how many woman would complain about looking young lol and she looking fine

good lol. Im not saying that it would be a bad thing (i love my dog) but i would still prefer for her to be like normal size

i'm not sure, i would think all puppy are differenet sizes

yea every staff is different to be honest so u cant really compare them even the kc ones differ so much.
I cant remember what Ty was at that age but hes 18kgish now at 14 months, kaos is nearly 6 months and hes 12.8kg x

Wow, I honestly don't know! I remember Bandit was at his full height (about 17" +) at around 12 months old, but no idea what his weight was. Full grown & fighting fit his weight was around 20 kilos I think.

Dempsey reached his full height quite early, at around 10/11 months old, but I haven't a clue how tall he is! He now weighs around 27 kilos, but then he's not a stafford!!!!

What is normal?

Staffordshire Bull Terriers have many different sizes! I've seen plenty round here that would make your girl look like a giant, believe me.

But 7 months is still very young & she'll likely grow a fair bit more before she's done. They don't really start to fill out till they're over a year old, anyway, and she won't reach her full height for probably another 3-5 months.

yea they say staffs grow up 4 a year then grow out for a year lol

She may not be HUGE, but she'll be a lot bigger than she is now!

Was your mum's stafford a male? They are quite a bit bigger than the females, and of course the females are a lot more, well, feminine, so they can look smaller!

my male at 7 months looked lanky and is head to big for his body, hes 10 months now and looking normal ish still not matured, saying that he is catcing up with his mum, i wouldnt worry too much when she say 18 months you will have an idea of what size she will be.

I'll try weigh and measure ours, he's a male though, how do I measure height? Do I measure from the paw to his head? Lol sorry I probs sound stupid but never measured him before and he will be 6 months sometime this month.

Your girl looks just fine and I am not just saying that. I would say if she didn't.

Are you talking Level with his back at the shoulder blades? Want to see how tall Tyson is. All the Staffy bitches we know are considerably smaller and more dainty than he is

To the highest point of his back but not his neck. Girls generally are smaller then boys. Ty looks like a heavily built fella, like Romeo. He's heavier then most of the staffies we meet but not taller.

My buster weighs about10 kg and is about 14.5 inches to the shoulder he is 7 months old
My girl Skye weighs about 20 kg and is about 17 inches and she's only 21 months old she always looked small till she turned 15 months and we meet a 3 yr old smaller than her although we have meet some that are taller and look lanky

Bitches should always be feminine & are usually smaller all round to males.

For height you measure from the ground to level with the highest point of his shoulder blades (withers).

Mines a wriggler but that's putting it lightly haha he'll probs try eat the tape measure

Been trying to post back on this but it wouldn't work on my phone but finally managed it now Kaiser is 2st 6lbs and approx 14" if I've measured right and 5 and half months.

My harv was 15" and 16kg at 6 months old and now at just over a year is 17" and 22kg

My Lola is 10 months now & still quite small she looks younger

I would'nt be concerned. I toke kenny to ringcraft this week and there was a staffy the same age as yours and about the same size. She's fine. When i've been chatting to breeders a few said they purposly breeding small. Like a few people have said, they come in all shapes and sizes. As for my dog kenny, he's quite big. Not sure how tall ( i havnt measured him) and 20kg. His litter mated especally the girls a alot smaller. She's gorgous

my stan is only 5 months young he is tiny compared to others he has been growing will try and measure him tomorrow not sure on his weight buts he is heavy lol and solid hes happy energetic eating and drinking well so whatever his build hes happy so im happy

My Saxon was 11kg at 5 months, but he's on the larger end of the standard and is 17.23kg right now at 18months. I've heard they grow "up" for the first year and "out" for the second and third year, but I just don't think Saxon is going to get much heavier than he is now.

After reading these posts im beginning to think my boys going to be a bruiser he's only 12 weeks

He's gorgeous Rascal is on the tall side, but two of her sisters are short and stocky, as is her mum. Her grandfather was a bit leggy so that's prob where she gets it from. Doesn't matter to us, we totally adore her just as she is As others have said, staffys come in a variety of sizes just like people do. They are all just totally gorgeous to me

Bailey was weighed 2 weeks ago and was 15.7 kg at 7months! Some days he looks all legs and other days he looks really stocky. Staffies are weird as pups haha

Is there any more recent pics of bella? I have a 7month old now and she is similar size 11-12kg and she seems TINY. At the park the other day she was the same size as a blue 12week old.

I know people say shes still got growing to do but the vet said shes going to be really small aswell.

Just interested to see how yours got on after....

This is a very old thread and not all the people still use the forum! I wouldn't worry they do all grow and develop at different rates

My Gordon will be 9 mths on the 24th and weighs 21kg, but dogs like people grow at different rates. As long as the dog is eating, drinking and happy   

My Lula is 5 months and last time she was weighed (16 weeks) she was 7.5kg I measured her today and she is 13inches
