Do you often make your dogs work for sticks like that ? I know many people do dimilar exercise's over A frames using a small flirt pole.

yeah i have a flirt pole and a spring pole..

i do it out on walks as i dnt have grass in my yard to use the A frame on as it a high impacted task, so i use natures presents while walking the dogs..

Do you compete your dogs as the type of exercise you give your guys is the same as those that do things like ACES days etc. I've seen people film their dogs going up and over an A frame seeing how many times they can do it in a certain time period.

Or do you just like them fit

forgot to say.. i dotn make them do it.. i ask and they are game for it..

yeah i dont compete them yet..

i dont have the transport atm but when i do i'l be making the 500mile round trip every month to the events

i never thought for one second you made them do it, you can tell they are more than happy to chase the stick. Some Staffords more than others have a lot of drive and yours look to be that way.

I would love to go to an ACES day, i know they are looking to moving the event and have one run in the Midlands which for me if it comes off would be great as it means i wouldn't have to travel to Kent to go to one.

Not sure if my guys would do any of the events but i'd love to try them as you never know.

yeah i kno wat you meant.. just had to put it coz i kno a few people can get funny with the way we word stuff,

as for a up north event.. me and a mate are in the process of sorting the stuff out and are going to find 2venues to hold the events are.. porbs b get it sorted.. will keep every 1 posted like.

yeah they are fit... but India could be fitter,.. theres a few lbs to take off her before an event like but atm shes living the easy life shes not as drivey as lennox but with himbeen a JRT X SBT theres more terrier in him and a hell of a lot more fire in his belly.. its just a shame he hates other dogs..

i think the new pup frank is going to be like lennox but bar the D/A its so hard to slow him down he want to be every thing the others do.. i have to drag him away from the spring pole lol he'l just sit there lookign at it(i take the rope of it whne not in use) took him out with indy today and he was runnign with her for a ball and he wasnt far behind the pace

should be fun wen hes older

BTW i love youre dogs... i think Indi with the white head? beautifull dog

the only thing my dogs are missing is paper work, india and frank are both rescues, there not bad for a pair of unwanted dogs lol

im for ever been called cruel or a slave driver for "making" my dogs jump for sticks/swing of trees/pull a tyre across the field..

i always say.. "how am i a slave driver... im not making them do anything, i put them in the harness and clip the tyre to a length of rope, if the dog didnt want to do it.. it would just sit there"

^ Example of that.. lennox my JRT X will jump a 4ft fence chase anything that moves, hang of a branch/spring pole for 30+ mins but he will NOT pull any weight he just sits there...

and i dnt even have to ask india as soon as that harness is on she wont keep stil lol clip the weight on and i have to slow her down with the lead other wise she just runs ans runs

I think it's great that your dogs enjoy it - some dogs just aren't bothered with things like this and if they are then great - A fit dog is a happy dog and it's much better to be out there doing things with your dogs than sit around and letting them get fat and lazy!

Your dogs look gorgeous and lovely sizes. I hope my Gizmo's legs stay long like yours are. They remind me of American bulldogs by their body shapes and very fit.
