A-Frame
The A-frame is as it suggests a piece of wood made into the shape of a letter A. We recommend fastening a piece of carpet over the frame to prevent injury to the dog if he slips off the frame. This is good for increasing stamina and for developing the muscles in their shoulders, back and legs.
We suggest you get your dog used to the flirt pole first before trying to get your dog to jump over the A-frame. The dog will then be encouraged to chase the flirt pole over the A-frame. If this doesn't work you might need to help your dog over the frame, first by lifting him on top of the frame and then letting him jump off. Get him to run towards the frame and assist him over giving him lots of encouragement. You could use treats, a raggy or another favourite toy to lure him over. If this all fails get another dog to demonstrate while your dog watches, hopefully he'll get all excited and want to do the same. Again keep your dog on the lead while the other dog is demonstrating to prevent an accident.
Remember your dog will only be as good as the effort you put into your dog.

Re: A-Frame
they are not illegal!!! the only reason that could be suggested to you is that people training their dogs to fight use all sorts of muscle building exercises - including tread mills/a frames/flirt poles/spring poles - but just because you have one doesnt mean you are going to fight your dog! whoever told you they were illegal is wrong, take agility for example, they use a frames lol and it is showcased at crufts - is this person suggesting agilty dogs are fighters??!
