First thing i think of = what did the girl do ???
And news like this is not the news we need also i feel sorry for the Little girl
Can`t imagine that a dog (any dog) will attack without a reason.

I agree, and was she supervised with the dog?
I feel sorry for all involved, the parents, girl and the dog.

the father was on the news & thru an interpreter he claims the dog had been given to him.

when the little girl went into the back yard he says it was the first time they had seen each other.

there has been no vision of the dog involved.

keep in mind there are very strict conditions for owning a restricted breed in nsw.

they must be neutered, they can not be sold, traded, swapped or given away.
the house must have dangerous dog signs on every gate, the dog must be kept in a child proof enclosure of a designated minimum size. & when not in the enclosure it must be muzzled, even tho it is still on the premises, even if it is inside the dwelling.

how do people circumvent these very strict conditions?

call the dog a cross staffy of course.

& you wonder why sbt people get pissed off?

The article states her father said it was eating in the backyard and she must have touched its food. DOH how stupid is that man! to leave his child unsupervised with a strange dog anyway! I trust my dogs 100% but would never leave them unsupervised with a child.
I feel sorry for the little girl bless her and angry at her fathers stupidity

yep I agree with you all! I too would trust my "girls" but for their sake, i dont leave them alone with kids. Not fair on the dog

Its a shame what happened to the little girl, and once again SBT gets negative press, thanks to a "dumb" owner.
