Here's a link to a petition site that does not have any grusome images or video's on it.

I think if people want to see this they can find it via google.
Having already seen it myself, it s not the sort of thing to watch lightly. I found it deeply disturbing.
However strong you think your stomach is... doubt you would want to see it, it is truely horrific.
I do not believe it should be on general display in a post.
Just my opinion.

I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment to stop the trade and the barbaric treatment of the animals.
But this is not the place to post such a video,
Without being prepared for what you will see, I think many will find it too distressing.

I haven't seen it and based on that description I don't want to. What are they actually using dog fur for? Surely no one would wear a dog fur coat? (Apart from Cruella de Ville)

Post by Markey on Thu 06 Aug 2009, 14:29

I am sure the home market in china and far east use a lot of the fur for clothing etc,
But I understand ( htough hope I am wrong) that unfortunately many items that are trimmed with a bit of fur , and cheap slippers and such , many use the fur from these farms.
Nobody as far as I know actually orders dog fur gloves - but if you buy a pair at the market you very well might be wearing them.
So in answer to your question " who buys it" ? - we do !

The thing is barnstormer - they've been doing it for hundreds of years.
Watts - 90% gets used it as mock/fake fur. They skin cats, dogs, rabbits, weasels(mink) etc all in the same manner.

Barnstormer - off topic - but have you ever been to an abatoir? Have you seen how they kill the cows, sheep and pork that you buy prepacked from the supermarket?? You might be in for another shock.

I remember being at an abbatoir as a child (again my dads thou shall learn how everything is done) and they were killing cows but it was a bolt through the head - its been a long time ago and it may be done differently now but this was a gun that shot a bolt out straight between the eyes and that was it. I was also taught how to skin and gut a rabbit and kill a chicken I had a wonderful childhood straight face

Guys, I work in labour hire & we supply staff to three abattoir's & am so glad to say they are nothing like these fur mongers! It has changed watts. ( a shot between the eyes is still the kindest kill IMO. It's instant.) But the smell of dead flesh hasn't. Phew! Gross! Abattior's have a standard they work to! (Here anyway. Cant say about over there. Dont know?) These fur farmers wouldnt know how to kill an animal humanly if you slapped them in the face! Again guys, abattoirs are run by very strict standard these days! You CANNOT compare the two. They are nothing alike!

I agree!
abattoirs should not be compared to this terrible video!
That video of the Chinese killing those poor animals...I was soo not prepared for it, I literally felt sick to my stomach! OMG! Fair enough animals are killed for their fur but it MUST be done quickly and in a humane way! I think I am going to have night mares tonight! crying I think 'to torture' runs through the vains of many people and no offence but the chinese are renouned for their torture! Surely you would know if an animal is dead or not and to continue to skin an animal wise to it still being alive is torture, it would certainly be easier to skin a dead animal that a moving live one and yet they continue to skin live animals, they obviously get a kick out of the torture involved....this s.h.i.t is just sick sick sick!!!!!!

Re: Chinese fur farms

Dont bother to watch it guys. It really is awful! (& I can detach myself from most things !)

Go hug & kiss your puppies & other pets, whatever breed they are! Let them know how much you love & will protect them again, & again, & again, & then go sign the petition! Human's are so cruel! & sorry to say but some humans don't deserve to be on this earth! We should all do our best to protect the animals on this planet & ensure their wellbeing, & not allow this sort of thing to take place anywhere! I know it's been going on for hundreds of yrs but so has slavery & that doesn't make it right either!!!! Bring back an eye for an eye! Awhhhhh, angry !

Sorry guys, can feel an edit from admin coming on????

Sign the petition guys & GO hug & kiss all your pets for me! They are a precious life form that you have been afforded the miracle of knowing, sharing your life with & spending time with them. Live, love & hug them all lots!

Some animals are unfortunate in their lot in life & do not know the love that everyone on this site shares with their animal friends, be they doggies or otherwise!

I'm not going to google it but I think I know what video it is. I have a stomach of steel (medical field - I have to) and often I have the distanced heart that goes with it but that video got to me. I remember my husband asking me what I was watching and I blocked the computer so he couldn't see it and told him not to look (he's a softy).

The main thing I got out of the video is the fact that humans are awful creatures. There is no other living creature on this earth who can be as heartless as us. Being an evolved creature has its downsides and this is one of them.

After several ongoing problems with this member, none of which related to this particular post, we reviewed the account. We have had many complaints about the posts that he has made, and as his contribution to the forum was 75 posts most of which have had to be edited, deleted or warned about, the Admin team made a decision to ban him.

I would like to reiterate that this post was not involved, if anyone has a problem with our decision then feel free to contact us.

I have to agree, there's no actual difference between the suffering of a dog or a pig or a cow, and I've seen some awful footage of the treatment of animals in slaughterhouses, sometimes because they are killing so many animals at a time to reach targets that they are just not following the procedures they should so the animals aren't killed humanely and suffer and sometimes and probably the worst is the gratuitous cruelty, ill treating animals for their own enjoyment.
