The article in the Connacht Tribune has triggered a serious of events. A producer of a well known evening show on Ireland premier channel RTE 1 read it and gave it to his staff with the words: *We have to help this lady!*
Which is why I got a call the day before yesterday from RTE and they told me they would like to make a documentary about EGAR and they would like to try help me find a place!!
So the team of Nationwide will be coming down on the 30th of January to film here!!
Nationwide is a popular program which is aired in the evenings with a pretty large audience. It can also be watched online!

They arrived at 10:30 and we wrapped it up at about 4 pm....
One quick coffee break... I am knackered.. We covered EVERYTHING...BSL and the nonsense of it, dogfighting, APBT in Search n Rescue, PAT, law enforcement, DDA in UK, pending DDA in Ireland, pounds, cruelty cases, resocialisation, training, Deed not Breed, new home needed for EGAR, being flooded out, having to have dogs in house crated because of flood and so on.
Chandler was the star of the show, she loved him! And she wanted to steal Bogey

I was near tears a couple of times, it is just so bad, water everywhere, dogs in the house everywhere, no place to go, BSL pending in Ireland etc. My nerves are shot at present. I couldn't even talk about Glor, I would have broken down...

that was a very good report.
pity (no pun intended) they kept referring to the dogs as ''bull terriers'' tho.
i think this would have only further confused the general public who who really have no perception of the pitty as a ''real'' dog, as a family pet.
why not just call them what they are & give credit where credit is due.
they are pit bulls/am staffs/ american staffordshire terriers, what ever, not bull terriers, bull terrier is a recognised, registered pure breed. a seperate breed entirely.
confusion is not the way to combat bsl. this report would have had people sitting up & really taking notice if that horrible term ''pit bull'' was used.
the old girl she referred to as a staffy may have been a staffy x, but it looked more like a pitty than a staffy to me.
