So sorry he's feeling icky. It's weird how the others can smell it too - when Inca had a UTI many of the other dogs would sniff an sniff and sniff her and eventually decide that they didn't like her just because she was 'off colour'.

Hope the vet goes smoothly - do they muzzle him just because he really doesn't like it there?

hello all so we been to the vets this morning and unfortunally weve been told he now has arthritus in his spine thats why he dont want to get up as its painful for him. the vet also said he could have an infection in the spine but they will need to do an mri scan to see the tissues in the back and spine and this will involve risking putting him to sleep. he has been given an anti imflamotory injection and been put on some antbiotics called ANTIROBE and also some metacam liquid he has been given a weeks worth to start with so we just have to wait and see how it goes really before he has the mri scan . he has cheered up a bit and hopefully when the painkillers kick in he will feel a bit better but he still wont eat out of his bowl when standing up ill let you know how it all goes..

Oh Kel,

I'm sure the meds give him relief from the pain. I'd just hand feed him for a day or two till they do kick in. Do they want to do an MRI scan regardless or wait till the drugs start to work & take another look at him?
Hugs & kisses from us to you & Oscar.

Poor baby Oscar - You must be beside yourself - its awful when our pups aren't well - Please give Oscar & yourself a huge hug from Me & our pooches xx

I am hoping the drugs begin to take effect soon - it normally takes a good 24 hours before they do get into their system - so hopefully you may see a little improvement.

Your neighbours friend was very kind to come and see Oscar - aren't some people lovely. Smile

When Diesel hurt his back (not like Oscar) he didn't eat for 2 days so it may be a cause of extra hugs and patience for your little man - I am sure the vet will do everything they can to get Oscar back and onhis and wagging his tail Smile

Let us know if Oscar manages to eat some breakfast today - we are all thinking of you and Oscar - sending get well wishes and huge squisshy hugs to little fella Smile x

Wow - thats fabulous news - bet you are beginning to feel a little happier too -

I also had to do this with Diesel for a few days - I actually think he liked his mum feeding him lol

I had to take him outside to wee with like a blanket to support his bottom half - which took some of the discomfort away.

It breaks your heart when they are unwell but it is soooo pleasing when they begin to turn the corner and get better.

Another huge hug on its way for you both - thank for letting us all know how the wee man is doing - xx Suzie T
