how do you know if anal gland is full?

Toby sometimes tries to lick his bum and sometimes a bit of brown liquid leaks out and smells fishy...is this a sign?? sorry to be gross!!

Does he drag his bottom along the floor, this is what cassie does when her anal glands are full, the fishy smell is from the glands emptying

ye he does drag his bum sometimes too....do you have to pay the vet to empty it? i'm going sat anyway to get his stitch out so think i'll mention it then

My vet empties cassies get the vet to check them when you go on saturday then you only get one consultation fee

Oh dear - it definately sounds like it to me - I would also get the vet to carry procedure out as I couldn't face doing it myself

bum scooting we call it my kids think this is so funny when molly does this! its not funny when you find it on your pillow wheres shes been laying though! my local grooming place charges £12 to empty them nice,

i think i'd want more than £12 but i wudnt wanna pay more

I refused to take rocco to the vets to get his done - I would have been down there once or twice a week at one point.

I did it myself, easy and doesn't cost me a small fortune.

Kev held rocco still while I did the squeezing! lol

He's a good boy and knows he has to stay still when doing it.
