LIMPING STAFFY!!

Post by Guest on Tue Jan 01, 2008 2:50 pm

kia my 9month old girl is of to the vets on thurs for a xray on her front right leg.after a rest or shes wakes up she hops about not putting the leg down.she has had a course of anti-inflam tabs a while ago but its not improved.actually got worse.she is fine after about 15mins after gettin up.she dont limp any other time.fine wen out walkin etc.just wondered if anybody else has had this with there staff?it started wen she was approx 5months,have even kept her to just lead walks and she hated that.she was speyed a month ago and was rested for another week too.my vet thinks it could be a dodgy kneecap but wil just have to wait and see wat if owt shows up on xray.HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL.

Tracie can you let me have a picture of her which includes her fron leg. I do Reiki and can send her Reiki to help her leg.

ask the vet to check the paws for any infection..my friends(deco) staff had the very same thing and that is what it ended up to be.

she could have abit of arthritis but i could be wrong.

When sam had a bad leg the vet said dogs can get arthritis at any age. We thought he had arthritis but he had a little bit of bone moving about in his knee joint. causing him to collapse now and again, we were never sure what caused the injury in the first place.

what i would think about is giving her some omega 3 & glucosamine sulphate it really good for bones.

she has been on the glucosimine tabs for about 3months now, sumbody recomended them to me,also has codliver oil tabs every other day but thanks for tellin me hun.shes a very active young girl too typical staff tbh.also i dont think its caused thru a injury as id remember her hurting herself.shes 15inc tall n weighs 18.3kg.my gut is tellin me the same as staffie steve said.should i try another treatment first do u think b4 puttin her thru the stress of been sedated for xray etc.my vet has examined her a month ago and cudnt feel anything out of place etc.it does not affect her any other time apart from wen she wakes up as ive said.Smile

If it gets any worse you could ask your vet to refer you to a specialist. It is expensive it cost me £1000 for an operation but it did resolve the problem. My dog had various x-rays and the vet couldnot see what was wrong.
