" Gritty Anal GlandS"

Ok firstly quick apology but this is actually a non Staffy request for help and info on behalf of a friend and a JRT.

Our little JRT friend has just had his glands drained and the nurse said they are a bit gritty possibly infected? Going back in 2 weeks for a check.

Any thoughts on why they would be gritty or infected...his brother has no problem and they live together get same fantastic level of care so it seems to be just him?

dont know about the gritty comment, however if the nurse thought they were infected he will possibly need antibiotics, Cassie my staffie has had anal gland problems in the past and has needed them emptied on a regular basis.

Got to be honest I thought if nurse said infected it should have been a vet refferal for antibiotics..thought maybe nurse is thinking see how it goes after draining? Odd thing really I,m definately not an expert but never heard of gritty before either.
