Raw!! :D
So we're just introducing slev onto raw as we're gonna phase out the kibble and then hopefully have him on a full raw diet soon! went to the butchers today and they were wicked!
he gave me a massive bag of bones (it was so big and heavy that i had trouble carrying it home!) and threw in 3 packs of pet mince and the whole thing came to 50p!!! 50p!
i was sooooo happy! luckily the butchers is just a road away from me so il be down there all the time now! ive got some pics of slev enjoying his first proper bone, so will post them up too! he didnt know what to do with it when i first put it down, his tail was going a million miles an hour but he just get running around and jumping and barking at it! now he's just chomping away!
xx

Re: Raw!! :D
Have you done any research on how to feed a dog on raw? There is a lot of misinformation going on, on this forum about feeding dogs raw. Feeding to much proteien can lead to liver and kidney failure. Don't just feed raw because you think it's the best - do your research and make sure you know what you have to give. Another problem with raw is that the dogs get to much zinc - it can cause an upset tummy or worse anemia and multiple organ failure.
I am not saying Raw/Barf is bad just get your balance right!

Re: Raw!! :D
Nothing funny - lol. Just read up on how to integrate it, what to feed and what not to and what signs to look for in your dog regarding anemia (thats actually common in raw fed dogs) etc etc...

Re: Raw!! :D
I agree with Oxide , do more research.
I myself am still nervous about feeding raw so i have opted for a mixture of kibble based diet and raw.
For me i have started to feed one day maybe one or two days a week opting for kibble on its own or kibble mixed with nature diet the other days. By doing this i can ensure my dogs get everything they need.
For me this is all still new so i am watching my dogs like a hawk to see how the doet change is effecting them any indication that it doesn't and i will stop the raw.

Re: Raw!! :D
Oh and you can feed your dogs kibble and raw mixed. It's not recommended for puppies but grown dogs are fine with it.

Nature Diet is still a complete food Julie. There should be no need to mix it with kibble. How's the cruciate injury getting on?
