Has anybody had their dog have a bad reaction to cooked pork?
Ive heard I should avoid it. is there any reason for this?

I haven't heard this either, but I do know that Burns do a Pork and Rice flavour so I'll be interested to know the answer to your question.

Re: pork
i have seen some info but nothing conclusive i can post yet as conflicting views,
i'll keep looking for a decent link - from what ive read....
Dogs are supposed to not have the enzyme to digest it and can give them upset tums/nausea
Some still give it theirs, others dont

Re: pork
i made the mistake of giving Indi a smoked Pork bone that comes vacummed packed in the pet shop. To say he drank for England was an understatement and he was up all night pee'ing . I'll never give him one again
As for pork recently i stayed at my mums and she fed all the dogs , my two and her Rottie some left over pork. Both Charlie and her boy Teal'c were up through the night being sick.
Not sure if it was the pork or not but i tend not to feed it to my dogs and was angry at my mum for doing so . I have heard quite often that pork is not good due to dogs not being able to digest it properly. I could be wrong though but i am sure someone will know

Re: pork
I have always been told never feed a dog pork - so I never have. The only think pork related they have is a pigs ear every now and then.

Re: pork
Hi there,
I'm a newby,
Our Staffy Sophie, we gave her pork and it made her quite sick so off to the vet we went, tests and some, at the end of it all she had got pancreatitis, the vet said it was due to her eating too much fatty food like pork and we were told not to give her pork again..chicken and rice was on the menu after that.
