I was just wondering if someone was trying to attack you outside or in your home would your dog be there to protect or would he run away and hide in a dark place?

Well, protect, I dont know, but he would make a lot of noise, he's very easy to scare. It would probably work in the same way as protecting, with the difference that he does it out of fright.

I think Tyson is still too young to protect me. He'll probably just stand there and wag his tail like crazy and lick the attacker Hopefully when he gets older tho he'll come to my rescue (hopefully i'll never be in that situation tho )

Nope, Roxy would lick them to death And if they had food, she would do anything!!! As for my beloved Molly, absolutely she would have protected us. Hopefully Hanna will, as Roxy is just a big sook!!

although my eldest bitch who is only two months different in age to my youngest son did surprise me as she's such a tart and adores all men, so never thought she had any 'protective' tendicies, infact thought she was totally disloyal...lol but when we had delta as a baby she was a firey little thing and son used to play with her on floor, one day pup got bit too aggressive in her play and growled at son and like a shot phoenix put herself between my son and pup and and gave the puppy a right telling off!! I was so touched at her love for my son and his for her (he calls her my special girl) and it cured delta !!

yea enzo definately would, he proved that the other day when i was walking him at night and there was 2 chavs in an alley way with snooker cues and he started barking and growling at them (he hardly ever barks) and he was snapping at them.

I am very surprised to see the number that have said yes to this as Staffs on the hole are not regarded as good guard dogs or protectors due to their loving nature towards humans. Roxy is extremmely loyal and would not leave my side and she may growl but as for protect you are more likely to get slobbered to death and then she would roll over for a tummy rub!

they are not good for guarding homes and would probably let anyone walk in your house and walk away with all your money but in most cases a staffy will protect their family, as will most breeds.

think tyson and bezial have the same temperment , bezial barks at passers by a lot though and his hackles are raised when he dont know people that come ine the yard

I think if someone was attacking like beating you up i'm sure any dog will some way and try protecting. they not going just sit there and let someone beat you up surly

every dog is diffrent....
but some wil proteckt their owner(hand that feeds them)
and some will not,no matter wot the breed...

i didnt get my staffs to proteckt me anyway i got them cos i love them sbt....
