What's the strangest thing your dog has eaten

Post by Marian on Wed 24 Sep 2008, 17:45

Every year when the walnuts are ready to be eaten I have a lot of work cleaning our backyard. Shoei and birds (especially the crows) don't like each other. Shoei always barks when they are sitting on our roof and tries to scare them devil . The last few days the crows on the other hand are sitting on our roof and are "throwing" walnuts towards Shoei laughing. Sometimes the walnuts hit him feeling beat up , but Shoei doesn't mind it at all. He just shakes his head, takes the walnut, cracks it and eats it drooling. So I was wondering if your staffy also eats strange things.

Vegas loves acorns and wood(especially the molding around the doors waiting ). He makes his own little salad out of the weeds and grass in the yard. And at night his delicacy is moths. He LOVES moths! It's kind of gross haha

Mine are mousers & ratters at heart, the word can't even be said without Diesel & Badger near going through walls!!

We live on a farm so plenty of oppertunity to let them loose on their obsession!!

They don't eat the full grown ones, but our female- Diesel- will eat the pinkies!! Pretty yuck, but high protein i guess!!

(Badger learnt to kill them by squashing them with a paw!!sick)

This year was the first time on holiday with Jess, and it was great seeing her running on the beach........until she ran back to us with crabs legs, claws or crab shells! She loved the crunch and didn't leave a crumb! Without doubt the worst thing though was a long dead seagull! It took a while to get her to drop it, and then only after it fell apart sick !!

My first staffy ate the following in one go after raiding the bathroom when we out one afternoon:
2 x disposable razors
1 x tube ointment, incuding the tube and packaging
1 x packet of inserts for an inhaler, including packaging.
Luckily there were no side effects. Still loved her though even though my husband had no inhalers and could have had an asthma attack (serves him right for leaving it in doggy reach!!)

Lola ate a mouse that the cat bought back as a present she also likes snails (not slugs they just don't have the crunch Big grin ) and yes she has had the heart worm wormer before anyone asks lol! Worst thing she does is drinking dirty water - the dirtier the better full of mud and whatever she will even leave a nice clean bowl of water to go and rout out some crisp packet from under the shed thats full of stagnant water....

Jazz is a snob and will only eat proper food. Marley on the other hand will eat anything - including my new $1000 outdoor couch, chairs and coffee table. She is really in the bad books because she has chewed the wood on every single item - and when I say chewed I mean CHEWED. My sons bike seats and pedals (2 bikes), my beautiful elephant that is near my front door, I love thongs and have (had) lots of pairs and Marley has managed to chew one thong from each pair. What else... the architrave in the laundry, she loves tomatoes and bananas. The list goes on, she will give anything a go.

Talking about rodents, we were walking along recently on the lead when Buster picked something up. Usually, I'm really vigilant because Buster constantly scavanges food (or what might pass as food) on the ground. This time I was completely lost in my own thoughts and it wasn't until a little while later that I became aware that he was carrying somthing in his mouth.

Oh my god, it was a thick, fat, rat's tail. I pulled it out of his mouth, out came the rest of the great big brown decomposed rat. Yeuch. Vets. Worming tablets.

The other night i was in the bath and the OH was unpacking a few bits that he had just bought from Tescos.I'm not too sure where he had left the box of cuppa soups but after he had put all the things away he walked into the living room to be greeted by powder all over the carpet and Brody with Minestrone cuppa soup (with croutons) all over his snout.
It hasn't done Brody any harm but the OH was sulking... laughing

It hasn't done Brody any harm but the OH was sulking...

this was the one that made me chuckle the most
