I always take my dogs with me, we bought a caravan so we didn't have to leave them at home. Caravaning is so much cheaper than most holidays so we have a lot more now and go to a lot more places.

Re: Are you planning a summer vacation with your dog?
cool idea mattie, i've considered a campervan or a caravan, as most places that allow dogs only allow two and it's a complete pain packing up crates etc etc.
luckily my eldest son doesn't want to be seen with his mum on holiday anymore (not to good for street cred i think...lol) so i have a live in sitter for my holidays abroad which i love, but with puppies not planned anything yet for this year

Always take ours with us on holiday. Off to Devon in two weeks for runs on the beach. Just hope the weather is a bit better than it has been.

The Caravan Club and Camping and Caravan Club all allow as many dogs as you have. I normally go on their sites with 6 dogs.

We have a caravan and plan our holidays around the championship shows. We have a week in May Edinburgh for the SKC & Scottish SBT shows, then a week in Kelso in June for the Border Union show, a long weekend in Stafford for the Parent club and Potteries SBT show, a week in August at Builth Wells for the Welsh Kennel Club show followed by a week in Edinburgh for the second SKC show. Already had the first one and we are going off again very soon for the second one!!

Re: Are you planning a summer vacation with your dog?
We've just come back from our first week away in the caravan with Jess. We've had a 'van for 12 years or so, been all over the UK and France and the kids have got used to not jumping around, getting all giddy and excited and getting under our feet while we set up.............now we've got another 'big kid' but with teeth!!!!! She bit through her lead within 5 mins of getting out of the car
. After settling down we had a great week, and Jess loved it. Looking forward to 2 weeks on the East coast in August.

we have been to france a few times when the kids were younger some really good memories from the holidays
we used to have a folding camper great bit of kit and easier to tow than a van but took a little longer to set up

Re: Are you planning a summer vacation with your dog?
After reading all the posts re number of dogs allowed etc does anyone know if you can get a decent caravan that comfortably (?) houses 6 people and 3 dogs lol already have a tow bar but i'm assuming a large enough van would be mega bucks?

Re: Are you planning a summer vacation with your dog?
We are going down South for a holiday in Kerry. we are staying at a fantastic caravanpark in a mobile home where dogs are very welcome.
I love takin the dogs on holiday, much prefer that than leaving them in kennels, though I do have a fantastic kennels near me who I totally trust and where Sully loves to go if he has to.
Cant wait to go on holiday havent had a proper on in two years and we are ALL going ot have a blast dog included
