Re: Do you dress your dog in dog clothes?
I put coats on mine if they are inclined to feel the cold, which is 4 of them. It is only my Collie/Lab and Greyhound/GSD/Lab that don't feel the cold. When it is raining I put coats on all of them although 2 are thin waterproof coats. Sitting in a caravan with 6 wet dogs isn't very nice but very smelly

I have voted,' it looks silly. But how silly do i look every night walking him in a big winter coat, gloves, hat and scarff. I must confess, i have been looking for a winter coat for Kano, 38 pounds. I think thats a bit much. He must be freezing love him

There are lots of Staffies round here and in the cold and wet weather they are often shivering but their owners are wrapped up and warm. I prefer to have my dogs warm and me cold if necessary.
Dog coats can be quite macho, TRPD http://petcraftproject.proboards24.com/index.cgi?board=chaos&action=display&thread=1196461096 make plain coloured, camaflarged, checks etc coats that don't make a dog look feminine. They also make collars, leads, harnesses etc and all the profits go to provide these items to dogs in rescues.
This is Ellie, my little Staffy girl in the coat I made for her. She is a little girl and like most little girls looks well in pink

Well i never ! The missis come home yesterday after going down pets at home and bought a coat. 13 pounds, its green waterproof outside and blue fleece inside. It's a large size and will fit Kano from now until never. He looks okay init, just the strap unserneath is too slack at the moment.

I use coats as well, for sick or old dogs or dogs which are not used to the cold etc.
I don't *dress up* my animals. However, I have a convict suit in which I dress my Pit Bulls every now and then, especially when we do fundraising or try to raise awareness for Bull Breeds.

I only dress my female Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Bree, in a coat when the weather is cold outside. You can actually see her skin thru her hair. So my theory is this...if it is cold enough for me to put something on to stay warm, then she should have something too.
