Staffy crossers

Post by Steve on Sun Sep 30, 2007 11:25 am

I though i would make this debate, what is the best staffy acoss have you owned or seen?

i think staffy x labrabor are good looking cross breeds but i'm sure other people have some good ones too.

i had a cool we cross, dont know wot her dad was but mum was a full breed, she was almost like a whippet on steroids with the heart and soul of a staff, and alot more brains than most full staffs too i noticed,

Staffies crossed with a sighthound seems to make a very good cross, they have the speed of the lurcher and the terrier loyalty.

i dont think responsible owners should ever cross their SBT with any other breed of dog, thats how we end up with all this bad press for our wonderful breed when idiots cross different breeds of dog 'to see what they will turn out like'. just take a look at the number of staffordshire bull terrier crosses in rescue shelters, there are huge numbers of these dogs being put to sleep every single day and if they werent bred in the first place this wouldnt be an issue

I dont think any staffy cross is the best because as i see it you either own one breed or another- why own a mix?

And let's face it, a cross is just a polite way of saying mongrel. Same with the labradoodles, why would anyone right in their head pay £1000 for a mongrel????

Unfortunately they do because they think they have bought a rare breed. crying

Rochdale have a Staffy in now who's owner doesn't seem to be collecting her, her time up is on Friday and there is nowhere for her to go. There is a Lab cross due to be pts on Wednesday and there is nowhere for him either. crying

I've got a "jaffy" a cross with a Jack Russell !!!

Mother is Pedigree Staff and Father is Pedigree Jack Russell.

Fantastic little lad, looks quite staffy and has only got little stumpy legs !!! he loves being out sniffing out all kinds of wildlife but also has the nice stability of a Staff too.

Will get some piccies up for you to chuckle at !!!

Both these dogs are now safe but there are more in, I just hope that we can find places for them.

I did offer to foster the Lab cross so that he wouldn't be pts which would have brought my dogs up to 7 which I don't want, 6 is plenty for me but thankfully someone has said they will take him.

I agree with crownbull and lesley, why cross and deviate from the breed?
