Treats
What treats do you give your dog?
I give a different brand dry food. When I give dog biscuits he gains too much weight. I also give him smoked pig ears. This is his favourite

Re: Treats
Depends on why I am giving treats. If I am training I use sliced hotdog sausages, cheese or chicken, if it just something to occupy them, it can be anything suitable.

Like Mattie, sliced hotdog sausages for training.
A jumbone once a fortnight as a special treat. Kong stuffed with gravy bones which goes in seconds!
In the dinner, Tuna or pasta or potatoes or gravy.

Re: Treats
Carrots!! Millie loves raw carrots so she gets one of those as a treat every day and it has the bonus of helping with her anal gland problem
She also loves cows ears and pigs ears or a frozen kong stuffed with chicken potatoes and gravy.

Tyson loves pigs ears...mind you he doesnt get them as often as he'd want. Otherwise just rawhide or small liver treats.

Re: Treats
For training i use home made liver cake or meaty strips (think they are by Burns), that have no artificial colours of preservatives.
Her high value treats (for really good things, like coming back when i blow the whistle) are usually cheese, chicken or sausages - only tiny pieces of sausage though.
Treats to keep her entertained are tripe sticks, hide chews and big hide twists which i untwist (with great difficulty) and add tasty treats.
Unfortunately Tonks doesn't like Kongs - she will like what she can from the end but never tries to chew them, so just gives up.
