hi johnny , yes go and watch how it's done at the shows, and contact breed clubs, some do ring craft training, were you can practise, and the staffy lot are very friendly and helpful and they will show you what to do, or what your doing wrong, without making your feel stupid.
I find these better than general ringcraft classes, as they are run by people that know the breed, and how it should be done they are quite informal, often it's compulsary to have a beer or two...lol so quiet a sociable night.
even if you decide not to show, it's good socilaising for your pup too.
a simple tip to start off with is to get her to stand at home to treats, giving her the stand command. don't encourage her to sit.
but most importantly make it fun for her, an alert dog in the ring is much preferable to one that looks bored with the whole affair.
