Chemicals Found in Commercial Dog Food

Post by Esther & 'Tyson' on Fri Mar 28, 2008 1:51 pm

Hey all,

Just came across this video and it shocked me to hear how many chemicals are contained in commerical dog food. I know the guy thats made this video is trying to sell his book but he made some very interesting points which i thought you all might want to hear.

Heres the link to the video:

Also wanted to know if anyone has this book? "Dog Food Secrets"

Thanks
Esther Smile

I've come across this before, Dead pets, with collars etc, road kill! laughing in food,i think hes full of it. Its sensationalism! yes there may be some bad foods out there ,But i for one dont think ie 'Hills' vetrenary practise would sell a product and risk losing their business and reputation by doing it. Nor pay for animal experimentation for their product as a lot of pet food manifacturers do. In UK dead pets are incinerated not put in pet food. Like you say Esther he just wants to make a fast buck on his book by scaring people. He hasnt done his homework properly because dogs ARE canabalistic, bitches will eat thier pups, and ferral packs will eat a dead carcass of one of their own also.

Oh well...im glad to know that its all bullshit then. I got a little worried for a minute. Even tho we dont feed Tyson cheap supermarket food, we do feed him dry food so i must say it really scared me for a minute. Thanks for clearing it up for me Big grin

Hi Esther, here is a good site to check out too. This is also where I got the recipes that I gave you for Tyson. I just feel better making Roxy and Hanna's food myself, then at least I know what is in it. Molly died from Cancer of the Spleen, this was mentioned in the clip, I thought I was doing the correct thing, only giving then pet mince etc, but i found too that the additive in petmince is not good. So i just use human grade meat for my girls.....not sure if this makes one bit of difference, but at least I feel that im doing the right thing! And also to know that the recipes that I have, have come from a Staffy breeder too! Her dogs look great! http://www.soverenstaff.com/index.htm We hope to have one of her puppys next year Smile
