I dont want any one to think Im in to animal testing, but these people, and soo many others with them, are researchers that actually do some good, without them no one would know anything about anything. Yes, it is sometimes cruel, but these persons are people too, and from what I know, at least in modern time, animals living as testing animals, actually have an ok life. Better than many other dogs in the world...
Back to the subject; my dogs are fed Hill's. Perrin eat Hills science plan adult, with chicken, and my mini schnauzer eat Hills prescription diet l/d, which is a special diet for her liver problems. Im thinking about putting Perrin on a performance feed, this spring/summer, when we have a lot of competitions, but Im not sure yet. We'll see, he loves to eat, so perhaps it's better to let him eat a bit more of the feed he's on now.

We've got Jess on James Wellbeloved, with gravy bones and marrowbone biscuits for dinner. She's tried meat, both freshly cooked and canned, gradually introduced into her diet, but it gave her the s***s!

Re: What do you feed ure staffod?
Mine started off on Beta from the breeders, but I have had mine on Royal canin, james wellbeloved, tried Iams once. but now i have them on Wainrights dry complete(its anti-allergy) it has the same typical values/protiens etc and is cheeper at only £5.89 for 2kilos I also mix it each meal with tuna, chicken, rice or liver. I found some of the other foods mentioned above gave them dry skin.(which can be caused by too much protien) Royal canin is very good but very costly at around £16.99 4kilos. Mine thrive on Wainrights

Re: What do you feed ure staffod?
ours are fed a raw diet, they have raw meat, bones, offal, rice occasionally, raw veg, and sometimes nature diet or deans
Re: What do you feed ure staffod?
try the silver, a bit less protein, stomachs are a bit more settled and a few less poos, working dogs do great on thisZeebo1uk wrote:At the moment i use Dr johns gold but ive been warned off this so im now looking for an alternative.
Re: What do you feed ure staffod?
iams use live animals to ''test'' their products.
to gauge the effect of excessive protein etc.
they use pound hounds because they consider them ''disposable''.
no one should buy any iams products.

mmmm
I have been a member of Animal Liberation in Australia. I have seen footage from these Labs. No animal has a good life in these places. Have a look at this site, it might help to shine some light on what actually happens there in the "testing" labs. http://www.uncaged.co.uk/iams.htm
Sorry to get on my "box" but this is a subject that i think should not exist now days. Surely after alllllll the testing on animals over all the years, they should have results!!!
Ok getting off the box now.....
I feed mine cooked food, prepared by myself, that way i know exactly that there are no additives, colors etc in there, just good food!!

i can just about manage to type after that comment,
I used to swear by Bakers but was warned off it before i got bronson, then i started using Dr johns workling dogs complete food whitch gradually became Dr Johns Gold, im currently weaning the dogs off it as ive started them on a semi Barf diet but as space is sparce in the freezer untill my new kennel block and feed store have been build ill just had to plod on. I have noticed a change in their coats and behavior.
Misty my 14 week old is currently on Pedagree puppy with their dry mixer 3 times a day untill shes old enough to be weened onto the barf diet with the rest of the pack
