How much do you feed your dogs?

Post by Daisys Mum on Fri Jan 18, 2008 5:45 pm

I have 5 month old Daisy and at the moment I give her 1/2 tin puppy meat twice a day with added puppy mix and when she is left I give her a few cheese stuffed Kongs and big robinsons juice bottles with broken up bonio in etc...

Is this enough? when should I start to increase the amount?? Iv never had a staff so I dont know how much they should have.

Thank you

Claire

Well supposedly (so the back of the tins say), your supposed to feed them 4 times a day up until they r 6 months, altho i have only ever given Enzo 2 meals a day, bowl of biscuits in the morning and a tin of food with some more biscuits at night.

What tinned meat are you feeding ?- I will be honest and the majority mainly contain water - have a look on the tin and it will give you the ingredients and contents I would honestly try and get her on a good dry complete if I were you.

Dry all the way for me ! even a young puppy will eat proper puppy mix. The tin stuff is full of rubbish and water. Anyway tins are very expensive compared to dry food.
No ifs...No buts...

I feed dry but soak it for a couple of hours because it swells which my dogs then think they are getting more than they are. laughing

I do add veg, fruit, fish and sometimes a teaspoon of tinned dog meat to give variety.
