Well i went out and bought a big bag of james wellbeloved today as every1 says it works great for their dogs, but Enzo is being his usual self and refusing to eat that aswell. I put it in his bowl and put it on the floor for him and he just sniffed it and walked away, so i tried putting it into a normal china bowl to see if its coz he has a problem with his bowl (i know it sounds stupid but im running out of ideas lol) but he did exactly the same again, sniffed it and walked off. Putting gravy or cheese on his biscuits doesnt seem to interest him anymore either. So i tried picking a few biscuits up in my hand and he sniffed them and ate them! Im not gonna feed him like this though coz it will give him the impression that hes the pack leader. Im really running out of ideas now but he cant just live on tinned dog food forever

Have you tried leaving it down? he might just be being fussy and will eat it when he is REALLY hungry?

I used to have a food snob dog but she soon went and ate after a while once she knew nothing better was coming her way!!

Daisy likes Nutro Choice chicken and rice but I think I might try her on James Wellbeloved at some point.

I would put the food down for him leave it for 15-20 minutes if he doesnt eat it then lift it and give him at next feed time - if he still doesnt eat it after 15-20 mins lift again and give him it next feed - he wont starve hun - it'll be hard but try and be persistant and perserver.

Duke was so so fussy but after lots of hard work it paid off.

Some dogs are frightened of stainless steel bowls and will only eat out of plastic ones. Put his food down, if after 10 minutes he hasn't eaten it, take it up and nothing until the next meal, then food down for 10 minutes again. Keep doing this and he will eat, dogs won't starve themselves unlike horses if they don't like something. I had to do this with Joe for 2 days before he would eat then I cut his food right back because he was getting too much, and not had a problem since.

Dogs cant live on can food it has no nutritional value what so ever ( 69% water) its a worry to me when people only feed there dogs this.
Good dry has more protien then meat or fish (which is esential for staffys because of such heavy muscle volume) as well as all other esential ingrediants dogs need. my advice is to mix dry and wet as this is all it(can food) is meant for start with very little dry mixed with can food(wet) then change the ratio gradually over some weeks.
I have only ever feed my dogs dry" you should see the size and "muscle on my staffs" I must be doing something right cause they are way bigger and more muscular then the parents they come from.
P.S probably feed your dogs smaller amounts to ashore his hunger during transition.

Youre dog sounds like a picky eater!!

Turbo eats just about anything.....i put in front of him.

Ruby is fussy too. I give her James Wellbeloved.

I giver her 100g in the morning and about 185 grams in the evening before or after walk.

However I think from next week i'll remove the food after 20 mins as this wi make her think once its gone its gone.

However tripe, some raw meat as a treat (usually weekends) goes down in 5 secs.

I also notice that if I add a little warm water Ruby finds it more smeelier, tastier and easier to it

Hi Jay i had the same problem with my old boy

he was started off on tin food and wholemeal mixer biscuits

no matter how many different brands of dry food i tried him on

he would'nt have none of it, he'd rather starve

so i gave up trying lol

apart from removing his bowl and waiting till next feed, i dont know

what else to suggest for you,
